I'm seeing prices for the turbo around 30 to 40k under MSRP right now which given the current climate is a lot. These are also 2020 models so I'm wondering if there's just strong depreciation for this year given all the issues. I just want my 22 RWD to hold value :)

I’m hoping everyone is ok….but this seems to be an issue with 2020s especially.

That would make it a 2 year old vehicle, so factor in 10% depreciation for each year.

Then there is the new ST body style.

The GTS has just launched which effectively makes the Turbo somewhat irrelevant, or not as exciting, since it really only has speed that hardly any owner would get to use.

And with the GTS, it also gets the latest battery tech, meaning it has the best range of any Taycan.

It's expected the chip shortage will be resolved by end of this year, further speeding up production lines.

So inevitably, after an absurd 12 months for used car prices, reality is setting in again.

I've put down a deposit for a GTS ST that I plan to own - paying for it in cash - for 2 years before selling. I have already worked out the estimated depreciation where my £125k MSRP will be worth somewhere around £105k by the time I sell it.

I am happy with that, and if it ends up at £95k, well so be it, but I can't imagine prices would fall that much based on lack of any competing vehicles being released in that time range, or new battery tech being available.

Work out something similar for your 22 RWD, though keep in mind the more supply of any particular model is going to hugely increase depreciation. Supply and demand curve makes the value of things quite easy to predict.

I suspect 4S will depreciate heavily next two years because it's the best selling model.

Of course an expensive car will deprecate a lot. If you wanted an investment it should be an 80s 911.

My rule of thumb is anything above 50% (average miles) driving after 3 years - and you're going OK.

Vroom offered me 20k over MSRP with 4k miles on the car for my 22 RWD. We traded in our MYP and our Plaid over the last couple weeks and the Taycan received great appraisals. But the market is definitely starting to show sings of softening

Wow! Your MSRP was around $117k?
Vroom pricing has been all over the place lately.

Yup just over. This was after I spoke with them twice, did a live video walk around and took about 2 dozen pictures for them.

This post influenced me to get a Vroom offer and sadly my $100,700 MSRP ‘21 RWD with 7,030 miles fished a $83,000 offer. I was ready to let it go if I could get $110k and this post made me hopeful, but no such luck :(

May still briefly test the Private Sale market before hunkering down for the long haul.

Do love the car thankfully.
