New user / First time post - thank you for your consideration. I recently bought a 2021 Porsche Taycan Turbo. I have ordered the product specific Taycan roof bars, which will be used to help transport my bike when needed and to also use a roof box when traveling on long-weekend trips with my family. Question ... anyone out there have experience with transporting a roof box on their Taycan? Both specs on the roof bars AND roof box say they are equipped to hold approx 165lbs. Does this account for the weight of the roof box?? Obviously, i want to avoid having too much weight on the roof and potentially causing damage to the car / glass roof.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Box doesn’t weigh much
60kg or 160lbs never a problem for me
Go for it

My box is a cheapo with stickers!
Not the £1500 Porsche box rated to 124mph.
I don’t go over 80mph!

I’ve used a Hapro 560l box on a 4S - all worked well. It’s my understanding that the 75kg limit includes the bars and box - so, realistically, the limit for stuff in the box is probably around 45kg.

That number is total load including the roof bars and roof box. For the CT4, the limit is 165 pounds. I have the Thule aero bars and Porsche Performance roof box. So the math(s) is:

Max CT4 Roof Load: 165lbs
Weight of Thule roof bars: 13.6lbs
Weight of PPRB roof box: 52lbs
Serviceable total cargo: 99.4 lbs.
