When I asked my dealer the same thing he said; It will be BMW/Audi smooth with 21 inch, Mercedes/Bentley smooth with 20 inch. Hope this helpsany one who has air suspension with the 21 inch mission or 20 inch tires are you getting a smooth ride or a harsh ride?
sir i am going with the 21 inch mission tires with the air suspension and you say that i would have a smooth ride with that setup is that correct? No particular experience with the Mission E wheels but I have driven the 20 inch Turbo Aero wheels (winterset with Goodyear winter tires) and these were relatively comfortable.
In spring/summer/autumn I used to drive on 21 inch Cross Turismo design wheels with Pirelli Pzeros and these are just a tiny bit less comfy as compared to the 20inch set up. Currently, I drive this 21 inch set as winter set and it is fine and comfy.
The summer set is now Vossen HF5 22 inch on conti sportcontact 6, and honestly not much diff as compared to the 21 inch set up. Also just a tiny bit but far from annoying. My RS5 B9 on 20 inch was relatively bumpy as compared to the Taycan on 22 inch.
I think for the Taycan with its great air suspension, just drive the car with the wheels you fancy, comfort wise you will be fine. I think the Taycan should at least wear 21 inch, it just looks better IMO. Comfort wise it is definitely fine.

I drive a cross turismo and with 21 inch I find it comfortable. Please note this is personal, as other may feel it differently. Or perhaps for the sedan it may be slightly different.sir i am going with the 21 inch mission tires with the air suspension and you say that i would have a smooth ride with that setup is that correct?
Hopefully we'll get a scientific answer to that interesting question, but in the meantime:...the 20" tire widths are quite narrow, my M5 has stock 20" wheels that are closer to the width of the Taycan 21" wheels. It seems like a bad idea to put a Taycan with 1100 lbs more weight on narrower tires, which if not just outright dangerous for sporty driving, maybe isn't much fun. Maybe I'm missing something: does the extra Taycan weight squash those narrow tires into a reasonable contact patch on the pavement or is it really just not going to perform.
My Turbo has 20 inch tyres and is certainly smoooooooth in normal mode. We had a 'loaner' from the dealer for a week (a GT4s with 21 inch wheels) and there was a noticable difference - the 20 much better for comfort.any one who has air suspension with the 21 inch mission or 20 inch tires are you getting a smooth ride or a harsh ride?
In general, why would one wheel size be smoother than another? My guess is a smaller wheel may result in a taller sidewall but ?any one who has air suspension with the 21 inch mission or 20 inch tires are you getting a smooth ride or a harsh ride?
