It never seizes to amaze me. One of human cognitive biases is assuming groups of which you are a part of are very diverse, while groups of which you are not a part of are very homogenous. So, in case of @Marmolata, all Texas residents are about the same, represented by extremes shown in the media, but there are all kinds of UK residents, fully understanding that any extremes shown in the media are not representative of general UK population. I heard once from a relative, who lives in a different country, that they would not want to even visit the USA because there are people murdering each other, to which I pointed out that their country murder rate per capita was actually higher during the prior year, but they just dismissed my argument stating how safe they feel where they live. People unaware of their biases will continue to fall victim to them. ?
I wish everyone would be aware of these.
Honestly, I wasn't sure if @Marmolata was being sarcastic or not, but even if they were, it still shows what the stereotypical perception of TX is. This state is far from perfect, but it's also a place I really enjoy living in (Austin in particular, no offense intended to anyone in a different part of TX). @whitex that's an interesting graphic. Solely because I wanted to illustrate the cognitive bias as it applied to the comment made by @Marmolata, and it was the only group that @Marmolata is publicly identifying with, via the profile location set to UK. A person from location X is talking about people in location Y. X=profile_location=UK and Y=location_in_the_comment=Texas in this case. No other reasons, or generalizations about people specifically from the UK. The 50 biases, including this one, apply equally to people on Earth.
@Marmolata has a stars and stripes flag and location UK so is he an Englishman (or Scot or Welshman) living in the USA or a USian living in the UK?

Or an Englishman who visited US, or perhaps logs into the forum through a VPN - the flag is based on the IP from which you login, and it does not refresh often (I've talked to members who once logged in from somewhere while visiting, their flag changed to that country and didn't change back for weeks). Or perhaps it's an international spy, collecting data for some rouge government. Or maybe AI? The latter would be most interesting, as it would indicate AI suffers from the same cognitive bias as humans do!

I read a few of his posts to get clues. Lots of mention of US$ so my guess is a Brit living in US or an USian proud of UK heritage. I think there is only one thing we can conclude with some level of certainty, he (or she, we don't know that detail) does not consider himself/herself a Texan, but suffers from the Outgroup Homogeneity Bias.
