Love it!!!

What’s great
1. Wow, it’s powerful. Feels similar at speed to a 488 or a GT2RS (the two fastest cars I have driven); *much* faster than my 991.2 GT3 or Taycan GTS. Off the line it’s like nothing I have ever driven or ridden in, launch mode is almost too much (from someone who had thought you can’t have too much power).
2. Steering and handling - feels a bit better than my GTS overall. Steering is crisper, cornering is flatter, and it’s slightly smoother riding.
3. Love the interior (race tex)
4. Thank you Lars Kern for asking for the paddles, much better way to activate the +160HP than a little button.
5. The slightly more aggressive look works for me. The big wing would be too much as would purple but pale blue with the small ducktail and more agressive front aero gives it just en

The one concern I had going in was range. While the EPA range is not much less than other Taycans, the WLTP consumption at very high speeds was much worse, and I had seen (not clearly reliable) indications of the CD being much higher.

A quick test on a flat highway in eco mode showed 28 kWh per 100 miles in range mode at 64 MPH, which equates to a best case highway range of over 340 miles. That will probably come down to around 310 at 70, which is a more realistic average for me given real world traffic in Northern California, but it was easier to maintain a steady pace at lowish-average speed than high-ish average.

That’s significantly more (10%-15?) efficient than my GTS ST.

Fun little add over the regular Taycan: TPMS shows temperature as well as pressure. Really useful on the track but fun to watch on the street, even if I can’t get much heat into the tires while driving responsibly.

Here it is with BBS FIR wheels. Stock width; 58 offset in front and 60 rear are just a hair more aggressive than stock. Just put on PS4 all seasons in Panamera sizes (275/32 and 325/30) for occasional Tahoe trips. Range was measured with those tires and wheels; compound is a bit less sticky but tires are a bit wider and the wheels are slightly more outboard so my guess is it’s close to a wash with stock tires.

Nice write-up, glad to hear you are enjoying it. I like you couldn't cope with the huge spoiler so would go for the more discreet spec like you have, albeit I think I'd go for a yellow one.

Your comment about launch control being ‘almost too much’ resonates with me as a fellow former ‘you can’t have too much horsepower’ driver. Given the insane amount of power you have, when would you use your 160hp boost?

Totally agree. The aggressive aero, including the rear duck tail in CF is so sex and well worth the CD penalty

What feels excessive is 1092 (or 1019?) HP in first gear!

939 HP, especially in second gear, is great - for a few seconds. Coming around an on ramp to a free way at night, no cars around, grab the paddle and hit it hard for a couple seconds is great… but the 10 second limit is immaterial on the street, you will be going 150+ before time runs out… it’s a great couple seconds from ~50-90 though!

If you have time would love to see more pictures of the pale blue in sunlight etc.

Attack mode is a noticeable increment especially when I am already accelerating and hit attack mode / power ramps up.

That said it’s darned fast either way… but regular just feels “normal really fast” (similar to my GT3 at speed, faster low and), whereas with attack mode it feels “crazy fast” - like the GT2RS or 488 at speed, again faster low end.

It’s a bit more than a 20% power increase, which is similar to the difference between the J1 4S PBP and J1 Turbo if that’s helpful.

Launch control reminds me of this video. First time a car has accelerated fast enough to make me (slightly) nauseous.

Could you tell me the size of tires that you used when you did a quick test on a flat highway in eco mode?
I've ordered turbo gt and I've been waiting for delivery, and I've chosen 21 inch default lightweight wheel and tire and 20inch turbo aerowheel for winter tire.
I think during warmer seasons I can drive without stop 450km in one trip, but I'm concerned about the possible longest range during the winter season. I want to go about 450km without stop to charge even in winter. Do you think it is possible to go 450km without stop even in winter?

The tires were PS4 all season 275/35 and 325/30 on 21 inch wheels. NC0 / Panamera figment. They have “B” rolling resistance grades on the European tire labels. I was worried that the slightly wider tires would have a negative impact on range but it appears they did not (though I don’t have a good baseline).

Whether you get 450km will depend on speed and how much temperature impacts the battery. It charges faster at low temperatures than the J1, but I don’t have any data on range. I think your wheels will do a bit better than mine. I suspect you would be fine if you didn’t go too fast.

I also agonized about range; I was confident that a Turbo S with 21 inch range wheels would make it 230 miles to Tahoe including ~6k feet of elevation gain and was worried about the Turbo GT. Ultimately I decided that it was more important to have the car I was more excited about and a 5-10 minute stop when it was cold or traffic allowed higher speeds was less important… don’t know about charging options on your trip / how big a problem it would be to have to stop.

Thank you very much for replying.
In my rural area of northern Japan, we have only 50kW DC charger at expressway service area, so I want to drive without DC charging through 450km even in winter.
It's boring that we can drive at 70 (or more?) mph only on 100km expressway of the 450km but it might be lucky to me that we have to drive at 50 (or less) mph on the rest (350km) of the trip.
Do you think I can drive Turbo GT without "not quick" DC charge the above trip even in winter (-10C)?

Of course It's wise to choose the longer range version in all Taycans, but it's exciting and attracting to me to experience much stronger acceleration than NISSAN R35 GT-R, which I drove for 7 years. That's why I've chosen Turbo GT.
