I read that these new Hankook tyres are approved (NF0) for the new Taycan. I took delivery of my second hand J1 Taycan last week (yay!), and as I swapped to winter wheels I noticed the summer tyres are really worn and I need to get new ones next season. But I'm getting very confused about sizes.

My current 21" summer tyres are 265/35 and 305/30. These sizes are available in the Hankook tyre, but they are not NF0! Bizarrely, the only NF0 21" sizes that are available are 245/40 and 285/35. Won't that make the tyre+rim a different total size? I don't get it!

Aside, as I was swapping my wheels I noticed there is a bit of corrosion on the read axle. Is this normal for a 16 month old car? And is it a problem?

The Hankook approved tyres are for the gen 2 car with 21” wheels, they will not fit gen 1. You can get Hankook tyres for your wheels which are not Porsche approved. I am in the same boat and have written to Porsche to confirm that buying these tyres will not have any impact on my warrantee, they have confirmed it is my choice and that it should not impact on manufacturers warrantee.

Wait....you say they won't fit a gen 1 taycan but you say you are going to try them? I have a 24 4S with 21" wheels. I'd like to put them on the car. Will it fit? I get they have not been certified, but I don't care if they will fit.
Thanks.

NF0 rated sizes do not fit as the rims on a J1.2 are half an inch narrower.

You can get the same tyres in J1 21" applicable size, but not NF0 rated.

I have the latter and they are very good.

The other option would be to buy half inch narrower rims and fit NF0 sizes if that's a real priority for you.

I have the non NF0 rated 265/305 on mine. Very pleased with them so far. Increased efficiency and much lower noise than the PZero’s. (Slightly less grippy as you might expect though).

Interesting, presumably narrower J1.2 tyres will be one of the reasons the J1.2 is more efficient?

Personally tempted to get the winter version of the 21 Hankooks despite not being NF0 rated.
