A couple of days ago I unlocked my car and found that only the driver’s door would unlock. I have been used to all doors unlocking when I press the unlock button on the key because that’s the way I set it from new.

I have no notifications of any OTA software updates, and am wondering whether anyone else has seen random changes to settings, and whether these were caused by OTA updates. Not a major issue, and I have not checked all of my settings, but I am curious.

This is the software I have. Is it the latest?

That's strange, I'm also curious also because my remote unlocking as you approach the car suddenly stopped working yesterday and I can't figure out how to activate it again. I have to physically press the unlock button on the key now (not a major hassle I know :) ).

I don’t have that feature on my GT, but it’ll be a setting in the PCM somewhere I expect.

I’m still annoyed that you can’t select vehicle preferences to be default for the car or specific to each driver. Drive mode always defaults back to normal. Every time you get in the vehicle it goes back to normal. I have to select “range” every time along with recuperation. Why something so simple cannot be saved in settings is just silly.
The car doesn’t recognize each of the two key fobs & the driver settings associated with each one.
Sometimes the seat goes back to my position but most of the time I try to enter the vehicle after my petite wife drives it I find myself wedged between the seat & the roof, contorting my body to reach for the seat selector. My Taycan is not very bright but she is gorgeous so I just grin & bare it…

In Europe – at least – its related to how the economy/range figures are set. They have to be captured by a car driving in its default just-switched-on state.

I have the same issues, coming from a Tesla. It's ridiculous that Porsche can't get the simple software things correct for a car that's double the price. Tesla even copies the settings over when I log into someone else's Tesla account to drive their car or rental.

Well, so much for the convenience of custom driver settings associated with your key fob…

I do not think this is some regulations, rather a poor Porsche implementation. Our BMW i4 will start up in the settings you used the last time.

If it was in comfort drive it will do that.
If it was in an individual mode it will start there.

Not sure where this rumour comes from??

Former ICE vehicle manufacturers are still in the cave man era of EVs. They should stay focused on performance, quality & reliability first but hopefully some day they’ll figure out how to do the simple convenience items well too.

I should be more specific that Porsche is in the Cave man era on EVs but it appears these convenience items shortcomings are for all Porsche products & not just EVs…

I blame these glitches on cosmic rays. Porsche is a magnet for them.

That's not really an excuse... The UI software team is a completely different team than the performance team. There is no reason to have bad software.
