Hi, I’ve been offered a MY22 Taycan 4 CT at a reasonable price however the options list is minimal. It has the 93 kWH PB+, privacy glass, 150kw DC booster and 4+1 seats however it’s missing the sport chrono package, Porsche electric sound, Pano roof & Bose audio which I was looking for.

Are there any critical options you wouldn’t buy your Taycan without ? I appreciate some are subjective but thanks in advance for your advice

Sports Chrono is a nice to have but not essential (doesn't offer more performance but does add an additional Drive Mode - Sports Plus - which you might use once!).

Electric sound is plain awful so you won't be missing out IMHO.

Pano roof is nice - lightens up the cabin (doesn't open remember) but can get warm in summer. No roof rails (from memory) if you don't have pano roof and I think that then limits the option to add crossbars (no fixings but check) if that's a potential issue.

Bose is a miss IMHO.

CT comes with air suspension as standard so that's good.

360 panoramic park assist is "essential" IMHO.

Power steering plus is desirable (speed sensitive).

14-way seats really nice to have.

Auto dimming mirrors, heated and folding (not sure if standard).

Lane Change Assist (blind spot monitoring) - I feel are essential (now standard...finally) as there is a bad blind spot at the rear 3/4.

Extended leather is a nice to have.

I don't have the fake sound and don't miss it, I turned it off in the demo car because it is pointless and irritating to me.

I prefer the look of the metal roof, it is lighter and you only notice the glass roof from the back seat FWIW but the back may be a bit dark with privacy glass without it.

I am a music lover and have a music system at home costing more than the car and the standard system in the car. I compared Bose and standard just to be sure because Bose was unavailable when I placed my order The Bose has more adjustments and a DSP faux surround capability but on pure sound I found it slightly harsher than the standard system (with the controls set at neutral) the standard system is fairly low colouration and even frequency response and I find it fine for a car, personally.

Mine has rear wheel steering which is fantastic for tuning as the lock is incredible

My thought is simply that while the options cost a lot at purchase, they don't bring much on a used car, so a highly optioned car has a lot of stuff that you basically get almost for free. Must have options for me are extended leather, big battery, blind spot monitor. I find the 360 parking camera almost worthless, and the car has the worst backup camera of anything I've driven. Having said that, having a front camera is helpful to avoid hitting the splitter on a curb when parking. Bose is great in mine, but I have never heard the standard system. I would wait for a highly optioned car and pay probably the same for it.

I agree with @mikelevitt in saying that when buying used, get the best-optioned car you can. Comparing a less-optioned car with a more-optioned car, they'll likely have similar prices. I would not get a car, for example, with the base sound system. The Premium Package (in the US) includes Bose, comfort seats, insulated glass, and other things, and it's required IMO. Get a car with the full leather seats, as the base interior has been called sub-par. Rear axle steering is a must-have, as it tightens the turning radius by a little - this is a big car, remember. Lots of pre-owned choices are very good prices. Avoid the RWD cars (too slow) and those with minimal options. Again, that's my opinion. YMMV.

Options are very personal - just sold my 23 CT 4S - anyone on here bought one from Tewkesbury.
Must haves for me.
Jet Black metallic
21 wheels
Pan roof
Bose
18 way? Sports seats or 14 way comfort seats.
Steering upgrade
Side assist
Sport Chrono with compass

all personal choice but as car sold very quickly I think I must have made some desirable choices.

I agree with all of this, but I also love the RWD cars. They are still faster than most sedan alternatives, and I find a boxster or 911 a more fun option for tearing around. I think the RWD cars are still a lot of fun, and often pretty reasonable to buy.

It's a buyer's market! There are plenty for sale so I'd suggest you don't jump for the first one you see - take your time and find one with the options you want.

Just sold my CT 4S, 22MY, grey, will be listed with Porsche Nottingham soon. Excellent spec.
Options to get: RAS, full leather, pano roof, BOSE, acoustic glass, surround cameras, matrix lights.
Nice to have: HUD.
Largely pointless: passenger display.
Avoid: 21” wheels. Look better, ride is significantly more harsh and noisy (though that may be my new cars’ tyres)

Panoramic roof? - from the driver's seat you don't even notice you have it. Plus: they break and the sculpted metal roof looks much cooler. Still, maybe I'm biased ;).

Umm of 150,000 Taycans (J1,1) how many roofs cracked and for what reason?

I've had both a saloon and ST each with the glass roof and no issues.

Realistically, metal roofs are fairly rare from what I've seen in 4+ years. Additional light in the cabin is a must for me personally.

I think you are biased and maybe short in height . I’m over 1m.90 and have seat right back - Pano roof is great! Just wish they opened!

How many roofs cracked? - no idea, I'm only going on anecdotal evidence of people writing about their experience (and cost) here on the forum.
