Cannot charge at Electrify America.

New 2025 Porsche Taycan S. Purchased March 2025.

Yesterday was first time trying to connect to EA. The plug and charge is checked in battery choices. I can charge at home Level 2 without problems.
At EA says processing on screen and the goes to unplug. I called EA and 3 representatives couldn’t solve the problem. Porsche says everything is fine on their end. I changed CC hoping that would help. Still no charging.

Since plug and charge wouldn’t work, EA said try my Porsche app. No EA representative could help with that option either. Porsche says everything is maybe plug charge interface is the problem. But plug and charge works at home.

So I don’t know the next step. Reboot system? If I go to Porsche dealer and charging works there, would that mean plug and charge is operating correctly?

Totally frustrated with EA and Porsche. It’s part of the package when car was purchased.

I went from Tesla to Porsche maybe I made the wrong decision.

Any help would be appreciated.

A lot of times it is the charger. That just happened to me last week. So I used another charger and it worked fine. Then saw several people go through the same routine as I did so I pretty much knew it was the charger. Stupid thing is the charger doesn't know it is the issue and just says cannot connect to car. Did you try another EA charger?

wait till you drop the car off at the dealer service for a few days for a software update and they brick the car and have to order parts from Germany before you can have it back…welcome to Porsche - you purchased a car that happens to be an EV - you didn't purchase an EV from an EV company…

you'll have other surprised, but build quality problems won't be any of them or brakes that suck…

Go to another Level 3 charger (e.g EVgo or even some Tesla (Magic Docks)). If Level 3 works OK, issue is EA communications. Likely "solved" by simply going to another site. EA ain't Tesla in charging so you gotta expect some issues....in a couple of months ( ?), Tesla access will improve your life so hang in there!

Need to determine whether the problem is plug & charge only, or whether EA does not recognize/accept your Porsche charging service account.
As others have said, try a different EA dispenser, and/or a different EA site.
See if you can get EA to charge by using the MyPorsche app. If you cannot get EA charging with both the MyPorsche app and plug & charge, then your Porsche charging service may not be configured correctly.
Check PCM settings - Porsche Connect Services - to see that Porsche charging service is active.
After plugging in the EA charger cable, I typically hold the EA plug up against the Taycan port to ensure a tight connection until the charging process is running. Helps ensure the system obtains a good connection to start.
Good luck.

Thanks for all the timely information and suggestions. I tried the push the plug and hold until connected. It worked so the problem was EA. BTW EA support is really pathetic. Thanks again
