Got to say, I think the porker charge rate is just too clever and defeats purpose.
My etron charges at 150kwh right up to 80%. Much more useful in normal life that the Porsche cycle

kWh? or kW?
No idea what you're trying to say.

The j1.1 average charge rate is 200kw 5-80%. J1.2 is about 270kw average.

A 150kw 400v charger averages about 130-140kw over that range

The charge time difference is about 5 to 10 minutes, so it's a use case situation.

Some station owners wants a long loitering time to get you to purchase food/merchandise, so they install even 50k kw units.

If my etron is at 30% charge and I plug it into a fast commercial charger it accepts electricity at 150kw. Right up to 80.% then reduces to 100kw for 80%to 90% then 50kw oneards

the Porsche charges at just over 200kw till up to about 30% then 100kw

basically I spend longer charging in a Porsche than an Audi

the differences you're noting is likely due to charging conditions of the unit or whether the car is preconditioned. The etron GT and Taycan is the exact same battery and technology.

How often is that a problem? I plug my Taycan in and it charges at 7kW while I sleep.

Very strange.
When preheated, if I plug it in with 10-30% battery it starts charging immediately at 250kW+. It starts dropping off around 70% but never have I seen charging speeds below 150kW with less then 80% battery.

We don't know if OP has an etron GT or one of the many other etrons none of which are comparable.

I honestly don’t understand what OP is saying but I have gotten speeds close to 269 kW when conditions are correct for charging on my 2024.

Wow, i have never seen those charge rates in my 2023 J1.1GTS.

My Etron is a 2020 SUV (the original eton)- it hits 150kw right up to 80%

The porsche always takes longer as it does not charge faster than 100kw from about 50% upwards.

Could there be a fault with my machine?

No fault but likely your battery isn't at the optimal temperature to sustain the higher charge rate - ideally 32C and can be achieved with preconditioning the battery using NAV (distance / time permitting).

Noted. I like to stick with ionity and trust Waze. So never use the Porsche navigation.

I think sadly that means I cannot precondition my battery appropriately

So is there any way around this?
Would preconditioning increase the temp to 32degC? That seems v hot.

could you nagivate to the IONITY charger? Would it assume one was going to charge at the destination.

the issue is the porsche navigation selects non ionity chargers. Or chargers were the number in units is low. I try to only use ones with scores of chargers so I never wait for a slot
