how do Porsche usually deal with discontinued models towards the end - do they feature stack and do special editions to get some final sales in?

It's called the Black Edition (UK) and has been on sale fir a while. Sometimes they go "Platinum" (Cayenne and Panamera).

Don't hold out as its not really a Porsche thing - Boxster and Cayman just fizzled out for example as did the ICE Macan.

I was assuming if they’re not ending production until 2030 that the current Black Edition wouldn’t be the last special edition. Seems a bit daft to launch a special final edition 5yrs before the end.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a “every option, half price” deal 🤣

It's not. Black Edition came out on the Cayman and Boxster (some years back - 2012 and then again 2016) long before the model changed.

We don't yet know that it's ending either but feels like it might be. So it will be J1.3 most likely rather than a J12.0 BUT who knows.

I just hope it will not change the possibility of extended warranty after 2030. That would really be a blow…

In any other case we’re good till 15 year old cars. Meaning buying one of the last cars would extend till 2045.

We decided to consider this option in 2029. Till then, the current j1.1 is fabulous!

Just picked up custom order 26 Turbo in Frozen Berry with lavender deviated stitching and seat centers, with paldao wood trim - absolutely love it.

What surprised me most about this story is just how many sites have picked up on it in my news feed.
Most with a negative take on the Taycan.

IMO its not that big a deal that in 4 years time a manufacturer announced an end a low selling large sports car after a 10 year run.

It would appear the pro oil / anti EV press are still firing on all cylinders!

https://www.reuters.com/business/re...-by-2030-wirtschaftswoche-reports-2026-08-13/
FRANKFURT, Aug 13 (Reuters) - Porsche AG plans to ‌discontinue production of its electric model Taycan by 2030, WirtschaftsWoche cited sources as saying on Thursday.
The carmaker has given up on initial plans ‌to relocate Taycan production to its plant in Leipzig from its main plant in Stuttgart, the business magazine added.
it would not surprise me in the least…
but 3 years ago everyting was "great" - Taycan was a success
2026 they can't sell their overpriced product…so now it's a failure (hint: they raised prices by quite a bit)
2030 is 4+ years from now...
3 years ago this statement would've been absurd…now it's gospel - ummm - the future is a hard thing to nail down…

we'll see what they do when they get there…forward looking statements like this are rarely accurate or tell the whole story…

Did Porsche do the interior like that or you had it done after market?
