I tried to search for my previous posts on this topic, but I’ve drawn a blank…
I have a 22kw tethered Zappi charger (we have 3-phase electricity), but most of the time I just plug in on 1 phase at a rate of around 4.7kw, depending on what power the house is using. When the weather is better...
On the way home from work today I ran into/over a pothole - the (nearside rear) tyre immediately deflated due to a huge gash in the side. I had to drive a few hundred metres to get off the main road, so I hope the alloy isn’t damaged.
Porsche assist were pretty good and got a recovery truck to...
My 2023 Taycan ST GTS was taken back to the dealer today for the APB2 recall (high voltage battery leakage testing). At the same time they did WPN8 - repgramming of the PCM (optimised software).
I’ll be collecting it tomorrow, so I’ll let you know if I notice anything different - anyone else...
I'm very aware about the importance of scheduling charging stops on the Porsche Nav so that the battery can be preconditioned ready to accept maximum charge when you arrive.
However, I've not really bothered too much with planning to pre-heat the battery prior to my normal journey, which...
I promised to provide a write-up of my recent trip to France, so here goes:
Practicality
There were 4 adults in the car, travelling for a boating holiday on the rivers & canals near Dijon, and the car impressively fitted a decent size bag each, plus various additional bags with provisions...
I’ve had a few tracker issues recently, so wanted to see if anyone had experienced similar issues:
1) I left the house without the tracker fob and received a text message indicating a suspected theft. When I previously had Porsche VTS on a 911, I would have received a follow-up phone call...
I know there are lots of posts about difficulties in programming the Taycan Homelink system for certain garage doors with rolling codes?
It looks as though our new gates and garage doors are a relatively new development with ‘bi-secur’ technology which (as I understand it) means that even if the...
In the Porsche connect Store, the only option I have is for a data package for in-car wi-fi. I’d have thought I should have some other options - Innodrive for one.
Any ideas?
Thanks
I left my Taycan connected to my Zappi charger for a few days, with the charger set to ECO+ mode, with the expectation that the car would only be topped up with energy when the Solar panels were generating more than the house actually needed (subject to the 1.4kw minimum).
I was therefore...
We will soon be setting off on a trip to France via the Eurotunnel, from Calais though to St Jean de Losne (south of Dijon).
According to Google maps, this takes me on the A26, A5 and A31 - I wondered if anyone had frequented this route and can recommend the best places to stop for charging...
A few times when our driving in a ‘sporty’ fashion (eg heavy braking into roundabouts, fast cornering etc) I’ve had a triple beep from the dash.
I’m not talking about reckless stuff, just the sort of sporty driving that the Taycan is designed for.
Which system is causing this and can I turn it...
This morning on my drive to work, the centre screen on the driver‘s display was blank, when it should have been showing the map. When I tried to select the Extended map, the whole display was blank, although I could display other items in the middle tube.
Once I’d got to my destination, I...
I’ve finally got my Solar Panels connected up to the house, although my Powerwall set-up won’t be completed until next week.
In the current weather I am seeing a good 6Kw being generated on the app, where the basic requirements for the house are normally a fraction of that, so the app suggests...
I've noticed that the information on the MyPorsche app and via MyPorsche ID online, are often inconsistent with each other. Also, they are sometimes at odds with the actual condition of the car i.e. charging status.
How frequently does the app / online system connect to the car to verify the...
Yesterday, it dawned on me that I couldn’t easily find the hazard warning light button - I wanted to thank someone in a lorry for letting me pull out in front of them, and wasn’t sure if they’d see my hand raised, given the small rear window and their relatively high seating position compared to...
We are planning to take the Taycan to France later in the year - I know that we are required to have fluorescent jackets in the event of an accident or breakdown. However, do we also still need to carry spare bulbs/fuses, and if so, what is actually needed for a Taycan?
I couldn’t see anything...
At home I have a 22kw Zappi charger, as we have 3-phase electricity at the house and I can utilise electricity from solar panels.
When I visit my family I am currently reliant on a normal 3pin plug, which is obviously extremely slow.
I’m tempted to get an upgraded socket installed in the...
Has anyone in the UK had the Porsche dashcam (front AND rear) installed in their Taycan recently?
I’m keen to see pictures of the installation and how obtrusive (or otherwise) both cameras are.
I appreciate that at £800 it is expensive compared to other options (Blackvue etc), and with less...
I’ve never had PPF before, and my previous still looked incredible after 20k miles and 7 years, despite only bring protected with a regular ceramic detail once a year.
it does seem that many (most?) people are choosing to have PPF applied to their Taycan.
For those that have done so, did you...
So, my Taycan ST GTS will probably be here in around 6 weeks, which got me thinking, what do I need to investigate now to make me prepared for when it does arrive:
- programming of the individual mode/button
- layout of main dash screens
- settings for Burmester audio
- programming for remote...
