Took a trip to LA from San Jose today. s
at home, i charged yesterday at a charger in San Jose, off Saratoga Ave.
Odd thing is that i plugged it said “initiating charging” and off it went. i didn’t even open the Porsche App.
Last time this happened it was because EA had free charging, so no app was needed. This time there was someone else there who was also charging and they needed to use a credit card.
Then today, i stopped off at the Firebaugh (about 100 miles away). In this case, i plugged in and it seemed to be stuck on “initiating charging” - but then i went into the car to confirm it was charging. then the EA screen eventually displayed the normal charging info. another case of not needing to use the app.
i met someone there who mentioned that these particular chargers were replaced.
The next stop, in Bakersfield, i needed to use the app.
So not sure what is going on. Maybe the chargers were updated (someone mentioning a cert needing update on the car?), or maybe this was a glitch we’re both chargers decided to charge without needing an app or that they got enough info from the car to authorize a charge.
my car has had all the updates
i know they are random data points and the car needed to have some change to it, i just found this as odd happening. on two different days, 100 miles apart
