Manthey has been going at it with their Turbo GT with Weissach. It was clocked at 6:50,58, beating the non Manthey kit versionof 7:07,55

So, is it more than just a kit? I know I’m oversimplifying it with this comment, but can’t this be done with just new bumpers, some vents, and a spoiler? It improves laptime by 17 seconds, thats a lot.

So, is it more than just a kit? I know I’m oversimplifying it with this comment, but can’t this be done with just new bumpers, some vents, and a spoiler? It improves laptime by 17 seconds, thats a lot.
We have no idea. It's all speculation.
But the Manthey kit for the GT3RS doesn't give any horsepower increase

It is quite a lot more aero, and it is an unnoficial record - so not necessarly road legal car.

I can't see porsche being able to justify R&D on a new more powerful motor in a time where they are bleeding money, for a car that already sold horrible (taycan GT, specifically with Weissach package).

If all it took was more power / higher top speed, Xiomi would have had a much better time than 7:04.957. So if anything, a lote more aero is likely to make a bigger difference, allowing them to corner at higher speeds / maintain max power for longer due to less overheating.

Would safely assume that it is similar to the GT3RS Mantehy package, a body kit to milk more money out of the small procentage of owners that do track those cars.

If any power upgrade, maybe they are using the newer HV modules from the Cayenne, to be able to squeeze more out of them for longer. But will GT owners pay the 40-60k for a battery upgrade?

Still no rear wheel aero discs, which is curious.

I think you're right about everything, including R&D.
The Manthey kit has to be installed aftermarket through a dealer to get around the world testing and legalities.

There are 3 testing. 2 of them have the disks.

Aero, suspension + tires can make a large difference. Manthey on the GT3 doesn't add any power

6:55.53 official lap.

Sadly, not production version, so not an official record. So for now it can only be compared against Xiaomi's stripped down unnoficial record of SU7 Ultra Prototype 6:22.

I would however expect the Manthey kit production version to fall between 6:55 and 7:00.

Is that insane looking roll cage that goes around the steering wheel included in the kit?
