New Spotify error today, hooray!

"No data volume available." Fantastic!

CarPlay then, I guess?

Endless "Loading data..." screen!

This is a couple days after my Porsche Connect expired and I reluctantly signed up for the $26.49/mo subscription ugh. Probably some cache somewhere that needs to get cleared so I'll sit in my driveway pressing buttons to sign out, sign back in, blah blah blah later in hopes of getting this f&*king thing to work.
A workaround that works for me is to switch to FM radio, then back to Spotify. Works most of the time as long as the car has cellular connection (without it it gets confused, sometimes asks me to login to spotify, but once it has a connection, it will work, might require switch to FM and back again though). Then there is streaming through CarPlay too.

@whitex that works for me sometimes too. Tried it this morning, no dice. On Monday when Spotify also didn't work (also after I paid the $26.49 to start the Porsche Connect subscription) I switched to CarPlay and navigated to the podcast I wanted to listen to - and it showed only like 7 episodes of that podcast FROM 2022. Four years ago. Just... astounding.

I'll probably have to go old school raw dog Bluetooth audio with this thing, and have to keep my phone out & available, like a teenager fixin' to rear-end somebody...

Can you not just use Spotify on the phone to select the podcast you want to listen to, and it would still stream over CarPlay? The Porsche audio screen would probably update then too, to show the podcast you are listening to.

Yeah, that's what I had to do. Thankful that terrible workaround still works...

Drove home from work in silence. Trying to switch to Spotify still gives the "No data volume available" and I also tried logging out of my Porsche account and logging back in. Ugh ugh ugh. Time to do more research on how to get this POS Porsche software to do the basics...

I drive in silence a lot because I like it - part of the EV charm. Recently however quite a bit less, because a new rattle showed up which I cannot seem to silence (actually not really new - same rattle that I had before, but was able to silence with a piece of packing foam pushed behind the instrument cluster, but after my entire dash had to be taken apart to replace some servo motors in the HVAC system, the rattle was gone for month, but now came back with a vengeance and can no longer be quieted with a piece of foam :( ).

I was able to log in to Spotify, BTW (got past the "No data volume available" error). I went in to the "PCM Services" bit in the My Porsche app (Vehicle Details -> Functions -> PCM Services) and in the "Spotify" area I tapped "Disconnect account". Then I selected Spotify in the car and did the QR code scan etc. and it worked. Spotify back in action! Let's see how long before I have a problem - and what problem it is. Place your wagers.... 😉

Two full weeks with functioning Spotify yay!

That ended this morning. Spotify disconnected and when I tried to switch Spotify back on, I got a new error: "To use this service, please register at My Porsche."

Guess who already had Spotify connected/activated/linked? This guy.

I disconnected and reconnected my Spotify account and will cross my fingers when driving home later... (at work now)

Update: did disconnecting and reconnecting Spotify from the My Porsche app fix the problem? It did not.

Did I once again have to fumble with getting my phone out of my pocket in order to get normal Bluetooth audio happening since Spotify didn't work DESPITE PAYING $26.49 MONTHLY FOR THIS ONE THING TO F$%KING WORK?! Yes. Sorry, got a little 😡 there.

Oh, BTW - the "Weather" app (which I put on the right side of the main display) was also blank this morning.

I don't think I can continue this Porsche Connect subscription... $26.49 per month sets expectations pretty high and reality has already been WAY below expectations.

I canceled Porsche Connect and requested a refund for the first (terrible) month. No response from Porsche customer service after a whole week (surprise of surprises) so disputing the charge w/ my credit card company ugh.

So today was day one of old school Bluetooth audio for the morning drive. I had my podcasts all lined up in a new "DRIVE TIME" Spotify playlist, started it up on the phone, all good. Then around five minutes into the drive, the audio just stopped. 🤔 Play button was in the "pause" state on both car screen and phone, indicating playback was still in progress... Paused and restarted - from both car and phone. Still no audio. What the...? Turns out, the car had decided to all-of-a-sudden, for no reason at all, set the audio volume to zero. JFC WTAF. So I thumb wheel the volume all the way back up to where it was (and juggle with rewinding to hear what I'd missed).

My goodness. Even the absolute basics of in-car entertainment, nearly twenty years after Bluetooth audio in cars became standard, this car manages to screw up. Astonishing.
