Can anyone confirm if this (below) is available or has been removed from settings please?

Bedding in and cleaning the brakes

The vehicle has a braking recuperation system that feeds some of the braking energy back into the high-voltage battery. In order to bed in the wheel brake, the recuperation system is deactivated briefly on new vehicles or after changing the brake pads. In order to support brake cleaning, recuperation is deactivated for a short time depending on the standstill time, drive mode and weather conditions. After this, recuperation is automatically reactivated.

Manually deactivate or activate brake recuperation

It's not a user setting, it just happens.

If you run with the Powermeter on the main driver display, you'll notice that there is no recuperation (green anti-clockwise bar) for a little while when you first set off (I think it may also depend how hard you brake and from what speed).

Thanks - I am aware of that.

The Good to Know definitely alludes to a manual setting - which would be good because discs get pretty 'dirty' in general use as the 3 to 5 stops of 'normal' brakes first thing does not clean them up sufficently......................

An anomaly.............. In a Porsche Manual ? Fancy..........

The name changed slightly but it’s still exactly where the manual says it is. That feature is not what you think it is though. It just determines what happens when you lift off the accelerator.

I agree with @Hirschaj: recuperation is what happens when you lift off the accelerator. Note that it's off by default in 'normal' driving as Porsche believe this is more economical. Personally, I like it on so fortunately there's a button right there on the steering wheel and an indicator bottom/left of the dash.

As for the brakes, @Bennachie: I was told when I collected my Taycan that the car will use friction more in the first 1000 miles to let them bed in, then afterwards the car prefers to use recuperation for gentle braking and use the friction brakes for heavy braking and coming to a stop. If you're particularly concerned about cleaning up your brakes I'd suggest a couple of heavy braking episodes occasionally would do the job.

Thanks guys but still no joy. Good to know alludes to 'turning off' recuperation. I accept that you cant, but.....................
