The Porsche Assistance policy is generally very good, but there are a couple of things to note in the policy wording;

1. Loan vehicles come with "an option to upgrade, at your cost, to a collision damage waiver"

2. Excluded are "customer-induced incidents" including "tyre damage due to user error including intentionally driving over a kerb or other obstruction", "discharged battery due to user error such as leaving lights on", and "discharged high voltage battery"

3. "In the UK, repair may include temporary use of a Porsche space saver to resolve a puncture ... however ... we may change you for the services provided"

In previous cars the only breakdown call I have made was for tyres damaged in various ways. The wording above seems to exclude this, sort of. (Of course, Taycans are different, and I've had to be towed three times for other sorts of breakdowns.)

I'm intrigued how this wording is applied to punctures in practice, e.g. Is a callout due to puncture from a nail through the tyre (or pinch flat from a pothole) excluded from being a breakdown, and if so what charge is levied for a callout and loan of a spacesaver to get you home:

"if the puncture or tyre problem is due to a reason other than a breakdown, we may charge you for the services provided. Any such charges will be agreed with you in advance and a debit / credit card deposit may be required. All Porsche spacesavers are to be returned to us following any agreed use"

When I called AA today to ask they suggested this woudl not be charged (which seems to correlate with what others are saying on the forums eg https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/how-frequently-do-you-get-punctures.18943/ 🤞
