Cabin Filter Replacement

Just had a pop up message saying the internal air filter will be due for replacing shortly and to contact Porsche. The car is due a service in a few months and I’m currently undecided on whether to replace it myself, or wait a few months. If I replace it myself, will Porsche replace it again at the scheduled service?

Common topic. I replace my own since I refuse to pay $300 for this service item. My dealer allows me to replace my own, bring the receipt and package from the filter, so they can reset the reminder. 3rd party filter that I get and recently posted on how to get is superior to the OEM in many ways (4-layers, etc.) and it cost about $30 USD and takes 15 min to replace.

Totally agree. It’s not even really a special Porsche part. It is common in many VAG cars. Don’t need any special skills to do it yourself. With pollen season about to hit, I’ll probably change it again afterwards.

I agree, I just replaced mine by myself a couple weeks ago. Ordered the filter on Amazon and took about 10 minutes.

I remember, one can simply reset the cabin-filter service notice via PCM smart service menu, no?

That's what I did for all the reminders that were due for the 2 year since everything was done one way or another.
