as long as you get a high enough quality one, yes
+1

I had one made by an electrician and it’s higher rated than what I need. I have used it for 7 years. Audi A3 Etron PHEV before the Taycans.
Not every day but most days.

Saying don’t use one is arse covering to stop muppets using a plug board they bought off Amazon for £2.

I would say the wiring in my extension lead is much safer than my (and a lot of peoples) 50? year wiring running through the walls of their houses from the fuse board to garage.

Nobody says you have to rewire your house before plugging in a charger in your garage.

Don't extend on the (wall) supply side, find a high quality extension cable for the power delivery side that is rated at or above the amperage of your EVSE (charger) and UL/CE safety certified or equivalent for your region.

It's still better (safer) to get an EVSE where the supply and charging cable length are sufficient without needing an extension.

Hi all,
This is for EU/Swiss.

I'm moving soon to a new place and the charging cable isn't long enough anymore to reach a plug at the new place.

Can I extend it with a normal plug extension cable (type 13 10amp); from a normal household plug (type 13)? What sort of speeds of charging can I expect like this?
Have a look at this website and contact them. They seem to supply type 2 extension cables
