My Taycan is at porsche centre since yesterday for the issues with the right side charging port. And for some reason when they try charging all works just fine…

so they said maybe its the cable, it’s not from Porsche but a general one. My reply was 1) It came with the car and 2) works fine on the left, so I don’t think so

Then they said maybe it’s an incident. My reply was . If it always occurs it’s not an incident

they are gonna test some more. If they call tomorrow with still no found probkem maybe I should just get them here at my home and test here? It’s only 3 km’s.

anyone else have this? It’s quite frustrating to have an issue they cannot reproduce.
What would be the way to go here? i only got her since april 11 with charging issues from day 1 so this was an existing problem prior to delivery

The car is under Porsche approved warranty as well.

FINAL UPDATE

it took a whopping 2 days but the bug is found.
my car was equipped with a heavy charging cable (32A) although she has the 11KW OBC. This cable is of course thicker and therefore heavier. Just enough to drop a little bit if you don’t hold it long enough. Makes it loose contact!
Cable is replaced with the Porsche 20A cable and without any hasitation she is cheerfully charging on the right port as we speak!
Hallelujah.

That’s awesome! Glad it wasn’t something worse or on the car itself. Now time to enjoy it!

Assuming your cable is properly made to standards the socket should accept it. It should accept any IEC 62196-2 Type 2 cable and on a road trip you might well find yourself charging somewhere that has a tethered three phase cable. Next time the car is in their workshop you may want to have the charging socket replaced.

On the other hand if the cable does not comply with standards then of course you should throw it away and their advice is correct

I do agree with both of you. But not now. Now I just wanna finally enjoy my new car!! No more workshop the upcoming time 🤣 (hopefully)

The old one was also from Porsche.
Most likely the former owner - like me - had the AC homecharger on the right as well and it is a little weared out. For now it’s workingfine but at the slightest sign of trouble I will make sure they replace the whole shabang. Not going through this waiting and testimg indefinately again!
First planned service is oktober ‘27. Would be nice if the port holds up till then, I’ll prolong the warranty anyway and this is already documented twice. Shouldn’t be a problem to have it fixed at any given moment
