Today I returned to my garage with 41% SOC but 8 hours later my SOC dropped to 34%.
The only thing I noticed was the Direct Charging was in the on position. Is it possible this is the reason my HV battery drained 7% in 8 hours?
I’ve never had my SOC drop by more than 1% over 2-3 weeks let alone over 8 hours.
Any ideas?

I just started charging again at 9pm but the main screen on the console shows 60% with an arrow next to it with charging set to 80% but the actual SOC is 34% & 71 miles range.
Before I plugged in my Porsche L1 charger (120V AC) is showed “Charging not possible” Once I plugged it in but the charger wasn’t powered on yet at 9pm it showed the charger was plugged in but not charging and once it began charging it still showed 60% with an arrow next to it and set to 80% charging profile with the SOC at 34% with 72 miles range.
Not sure what the 60% means?
Seems like some sort of software error…
Anyone have any ideas?

Please provide more info. For example, did you try a 2-finger reset of the PCM? Did you try checking the My Porsche app for its SOC?

It reports the same information in the Porsche app. I did not do any reset. How do I do this “2-finger reset”?
I did notice there were several software updates that popped up at the same time just before this all happened today.

Place two fingers on the upper‑right corner of the main center display (just to the left of the physical Home “house” icon) and keep them pressed until the screens go black and the system restarts.

Step-by-step
  • Turn the car on (ignition on, PCM awake).
  • On the upper main screen, put two fingertips together in the top‑right area near the clock/Home icon.
  • Keep holding for several seconds; the displays will shut off and then enters “engineering mode”.
  • Select ”Reboot to Normal Mode” and the PCM will return to normal.
This “2‑finger reset” only reboots the PCM; it does not wipe settings or perform a factory reset.

Thank you so much!
I was just told the OTA software update which was downloaded just before this happened likely set a minimum charge level of 60% whenever the charging cable is plugged in and there is no charging profile active. They are assuming this is to avoid letting the SOC drop below 50% and risk letting the 13.5V battery drain down & die when in storage for weeks or more.

No.

When 'on' it simply means that any set timers are bypassed. Normally used when AC public charging to avoid any conflicts.

When at home it will perform the same function and start charging straightaway.

Thanks, I’ve only had to use direct charging when charging AC at ChargePoint.

Yes, that would make sense and is a great example if you have active timers and need to temporarily override these when public AC charging.
