My dealer is telling me my EVSE cable that goes from the unit to the vehicle (long one) was replaced as part of the known recall that is going on... just trying to confirm which parts are which.

Thx,

So this was isolated to NA from memory when there were issues with the PMCC EVSE. Reducing the amp rating of the cable would cut the power by half if going from 32A to 16A.

This cable can only be used between your evse and the car and is different to the public AC charging cable used for untethered EVSEs.

Alternative here is to source a different EVSE and cable to get the max from your home setup than risk sourcing a 32A cable to pair with your current one given the recall work.

V04015001ML is the short cable between the EVSE and NEMA14-50 socket, not the long cable between EVSE and car. This is the cable that had a recall due to overheating. The replaced part has a temperature sensor in the NEMA 14-50 plug. EVSE firmware needs updating to use it.

Yes, I looked at this... so it looks like the V04015001ML part number is the smaller pigtail piece... not the longer cable that goes to the vehicle as I originally mentioned, correct?

That's correct and is referred to as the "supply" cable as it goes from your power source (power outlet) to the EVSE.

The EVSE to car cable should also be rated the same (32A in UK and possibly 40A in NA).

There will be details of these items in the PMCC manual.

Correct, the part number you provided is the short cable, which has been part of the recall. As per @Tooney post above, the long cable can fail as well, but it would be replaced with the same part number as the original.

As you can imagine, I did not get a manual with my PMCC :(

I am just attempting to determine if the recall is supposed to include replacing the longer cable that goes from the PMCC to the vehicle.

Thanks again, all!
