ACC uses recuperation just as much as you use it when applying the brake pedal. No difference.

There has to be some other reason
Aha. This is contrary to what the service specialist told me. Would be a shame if it was true.

900 € for rear brakes pads, are they not the same pads used on Audi Etron gt.
Pads for red calipers are 220€ delivered , silver 475€ delivered finland . Brakes are pretty simple most garages could do it. Why give there more money if you are not happy. Have them changed and monitor.
Yep I agree it’s very steep. I‘ll need to look into it, but I wouldn’t be surprised at all if they were the same as Etron brake pads.

I also agree I can have an independent shop change them. It’s just that I already have an appointment for a warranty repair (moisture in the indicators on one side) that needs to be done by Porsche Finland.

I contacted the chief of the service dept. about the brake pads. I received a reply that in the contrary to how I interpreted the notes from the mechanic who carried out the 2 year service (in the lines of “the brake pads will not last until the next service”), the chief said he does not see a need to replace them yet. I’ll have a look at them myself too.

Seems to have worked out ok. I don’t have a problem with Porsche service here although they are very profit driven which can put unnecessary costs on clients earlier than needed.

Like MattFinland, I haven’t had problems with the Porsche service here either. That‘s why I figured they would not just try to scam me. I guess overeagerness may explain the case.

Luckily I don‘t have an openable sunroof, so if I ever get quoted for drainage check, I’ll know how to react :-D

You can easily check if your car is using recuperation while ACC is on. Turn on the power meter in the center tube, turn on ACC while driving down the highway, wait until ACC needs to slow down, and look to see if the power meter lights up the green line that indicates recuperation is actively slowing you down.

Thanks, I’ll give that a try :)
