I think you might underestimate the OBC problem as reported by many. It seems to be a flawed design as some are already on their third replacement. I know it is only a small sample but two friends of mine also drive a Taycan and both have had OBC and heater replaced . That is 3/3 within three years of ownership, all with the 22KWh OBC.
But then again, you might be lucky !

Without warranty I would have paid 4k euro to fix the stuck front ventilators.

I have VCDS and I can see when it gets stuck.
It's easy to check and replacing a fan is easy.
Mostly it's just removing the debris.
Still, I cleaned them but not many debris in 4,5 years...
Also not a common issue.

However is it not the fact that the parts that have been exchanged under warranty
In my country it does.
It's warranty on repair.
It's even a general consumer warranty: of a repaired item you may expect it'll work for a decent amount of time.
I don't know the exact time table though.
I look at it this way: if it holds for 3 years another fix is cheaper than a extended warranty of 3 years....

It is the same for me on REPAIRs that I pay for, but not any extra time for repairs under a warranty claim. That is the way it was explained to me at the dealer. But check the wording in the Porsche warranty terms, under clause 7.5 in the enclosed document.

https://assets-v2.porsche.com/gb/-/...cle-Warranty-Plug-in-Hybrid-Electric-Vehicles

And that is the same for your battery. The warranty is for 8 years, but if the battery fails and you receive a new one after say 6 years, you will NOT have an additional 8 years warranty from the date of repair.

Porsche parts normally carry a 2 year warranty (at least here) but only if you have paid for that part.

It's something I'm thinking about a bit now as my car is 15 months old. Personally, I wouldn't dream of not taking out the extended warranty.

I'm also in the Netherlands and from a post further upthread, it seems it's good to shop around.

Seems like your leaning to not taking it which is your right. However I think you may come to regret that later on. Good luck in your ownership.

What if nothing happens in the upcoming 3 years/18-24.000 kms?

Then the worst case is your out €4,300. Even a minor repair at a Porsche shop will be that and more. There are a lot of high dollar repairs on this vehicle. The worst being when the dealer doesn’t know exactly what is actually wrong and just starts replacing parts and it doesn’t fix the problem. I am someone who absolutely does not buy aftermarket vehicle warranties. However this one I am doing no question.

It's insurance against big repair bills. If nothing happens you've lost your premium but on the flip side you could have big bills to pay if something expensive fails. Basically you're gambling - over a large population of cars Porsche will come out on top but for you it's a sample size of one: stick or twist?

I meant in the case when I won't take the 3 year warranty.
That's saving €4300.
Easy money imho.

I've seen cars with over 100.000 km and no issues.
Remember you only read about issues when going on the internet.
People who don't have any issues don't post like: "My car has been flawless!"....
Ok, only in topics where someone rants about Porsche...

Nevertheless, I appreciate all of your opinions. ??
Still, I haven't seen the answer I'm looking for.

I don’t go off what people say. I go off what I have been through and others I know have been through

I would never ever ever waive the extended Porsche warranty on a Taycan!
