Glass rooftop issue..

it's been only a couple of weeks since I've been driving my Taycan from 1 pm to 3 pm. The outside temperature was about 92° F. I'm in Texas, btw.
Damn sun is killing my eyes.. Are there any tips that I may be able to utilize to cover the glass? I think this is a huge design flaw.

Wow what is your seating position? I'm six feet tall and cannot see the panoramic glass even in my peripheral vision unless I tilt my head back. How is it possible for sunlight, making it through all those specially coated layers of glass and plastic that terminate into the metal frame above your head, to enter your eyes facing the road ahead?

I just had mine tinted after 1.5 years of ownership and all other windows with tinted since day 1. FL Sun was burning up the top of my head on long trips and just decided 2 weeks ago to do it. Went with 3M ceramic IR Series 70. It’s a noticeable heat reduction and yes still let’s you enjoy the full pano, and car is much cooler when I get in. Easier than having a shade for me. U $250 installed.

I am in Texas as well and don't even notice the sun coming through the roof. I will say that my eyes are not that sensitive to the sun and/or light (I only wear sunglasses when we are on the boat) so it might be more of individual sensitivity to sun/light versus a design flaw. That said I think that I would opt for tinting versus a shade, but that's just me.

I called the dealership regarding the tint. They said that the glass will break if we tint it due to increased heat absorption in the glass itself..? It kinda makes sense. But not sure if that's true.

I'm six feet tall as well. My nose is right below 3 inches the line where the glass starts.
Even though the glass is not in my peripheral vision, the sun still hits my eyes, not perpendicularly.
people have wider peripheral vision horizontally than vertically.
Like when you are walking from 1 pm to 3 pm. you can feel that the sun is hitting your eyes even if you can't see the sun.

It is my understanding that modern windshield glass is manufactured to block/limit UV-A (in addition to the glass’ natural ability to block UV-B). However the side & rear windows typically aren’t treated this way. I wonder if the standard pano glass roof is treated to block UV-A, if you need the upgraded thermal glass for that, or…?

My Dad told me to never trust the competence of a driver wearing a hat.

I must say we had family cars previously with a pano roof I didn’t like the feel of the sun’s rays on my head and haven’t had one since and won’t again. That was when I had more hair than I do now too.

The pressed detail in the ally roof of the Taycan looks nicer to me too. I would definitely get a shade if I had to have the pano roof for any reason.

I could post a totally unhelpful comment saying how I like the light it brings to the car, and the sun has never dazzled me through the roof, or that I don’t look through it when driving ( which is useful for not crashing or seeing the bloody great crack in it).

However, thats just my experience. To fix your issue I’d show some commitment, sell your car and reorder with the photochromic roof. ??

What I like about the screen would be the ability remove it when it’s not necessary (since Seattle doesn’t get a ton of sunny days in a year).
