Does anyone have the race-tex covered B-pillars? Does that seem pleasing and wear resistant?
At 8000 miles after 18 months, mine show no wear and IMO are a big improvement on the plastic. Those aren't marks, just the nap where my fingers brushed the material when I was checking where it was n my dark garage.
(The option requires race-tex roof lining)

This comment about B-pillar hard plastic comes up a lot on this board. What option(s) specifically cover that with leather? Anything other than base standard leather? Or one of those door trim options?
I can’t see any added value in a Pillar covered in leather or race-tex Do people rub the pillar before going back home?

We were thinking about custom order CT4 with PTS... but now that I see what CPO '23 CT4S, CT4GTS, and CT4Ts go for, I am on a hunt for one of those. I can get it wrapped in color I want. It seems like >10K miles ones are not unicorns. One I just missed out on from dealer in Chicago (I am in MA) who sold me my 1st Porsche was a very nicely optioned CT4GTS with barely 1K miles at $40K off MSRP.
CT4 GTS? I did not know that this was possible? GTS only in Sport Turismo

I did the Alcantara (Race-tex) factory option for the b- pillar on mine and feel it was well worth it. Racetex headliner is standard on my GTS.

The leather option is bundled with leather door sills I believe.

The b-pillar in racetex is inexpensive if the car you are getting already has racetex headliner, otherwise it forces you to add the headliner as well which is a cost. In that case, the leather covered b-pillar which bundles leather doorsills may be similar or less cost, have not checked the configurator recently.

Other than aesthetics and luxury vibe, no value. Porsche personalization options only have value to the person speccing them and then are worth zero after for the most part. Buying a Porsche EV has questionable value, compared to a Model 3 performance to some people as well.

There is so much talk on this board about trade-ins. Trade-in is the lowest price you can get for a car..
[QUOTE/]
Agree - first rule of car buying is decouple the buy from the trade-in. We just sold my wife's mercedes that had been in a couple minor accidents, and was in 'fair' condition with 107,000 miles and the total transaction time was about three hours including travel. We got $13,400 from Carmax. She asked about a trade-in at her original Mercedes dealer and the salesperson told her it's 'not really worth anything'. Total BS.

Here's what you should check out if you are considering trading in or selling your car. Go to Edmunds.com and input your vin. Fill out the additional questions - they'll have a record of accidents, options, etc. Then they'll ask if you want a quote from Carmax, and get the quote. Carmax will ask for some pics and documents, and we spent about an hour total at the place. They didn't even test drive the car, and we left with a check for $13,400. This was consistent with the 'Blue Book' value as well. No hassles with a 'private sale', and we used the check for her new Mercedes (at a different dealer...).
