I found this informative:

Yep Paul's videos are excellent - on this one as I say didn't need any advice other than that provided by my SA - but yes, I have links to a series of his tutorials :)

Here is a number you can use to text to Porsche support:
1-800-767-7243
When I picked up my car this past Saturday, I couldn't log in with my email address and password. My sales advisor called Porsche and they suggested I text them. I did and by the next morning, my login was working. As part of the text message I attached a screen shot of the Connection screen which has the circle "Moblie device", "Taycan_number_5GHz", "Taycan", "Porsche server". The "Taycan" to "Porsche server" was greyed out until Sunday morning.

At the dealership the SA wiped out the Taycan config and changed my password. I then texted al these details. I'm not sure which step did the trick.
Thx so much for sharing this - hoping it might be a working solution for me too but will bring this along on my visit back to the dealership tomorrow - fingers crossed!

Can you have two homelink button set up? I have two garage doors and I do not want to have both opening at the hit of the homelink button..
Thanks
According to the Porsche Configurator on the UK site, the Homelink is programmable for up to 8 garage door, gate, lighting and/or alarm systems.

I assume the US/Canadian version would be the same?

Well my SA sent me an email late tonight and set up registration via a pin code (which I specifically asked him about on day of pick-up that he thought would be unnecessary) an duo and behold I am in - awesome - registration completed and everything forms car is 100% on and active. Super happy - time to enjoy the s thing w/o distraction (thinking positive here :)). Better still I can avoid the trip to the dealer tomorrow - Happy Xmas all!

No admittedly my situation is very favorable in that the driveway gate is less than 20 yards/meters from the garage door - any further than that and you may well encounter hit and miss results if both being activated from one HomeLink button and in your case suspect you may have to stick with two separate assignments.

Alternately (as I suspect it is doing for me) it may well simply just send out both signals every time it is pushed - so if your two openers are far enough apart (out of typical range of each other) then you may simply have to tap the assigned custom button each time you approach each separate gate/garage door - all signals sent each time but the opener that is out of range in each case will simply not receive it's signal. Might work?
I suspect you’re actually using the same rolling code on both openers. This would explain why its functioning as you described.

Had thought of that but I used separately coded buttons that each only opened either the gate or the garage when syncing to Homelink in the PCM so that solution didn’t quite make sense at the time - however it would be the simplest solution but still don’t get how a remote that was linked via learning originally with the gate and never before activated my garage door would somehow now be using the garage door rolling code? Each device was added separately to Homelink and each had separate codes derived from the original learning process separate to Homelink when installed. Interesting but TBH just happy it works as it does!

Another Observation:

OK, the accuracy of the geolocation is pretty impressive!!

I had originally setup my single click PCM HomelInk dual gate-garage opening whilst the car was parked between the garage and the gate (thinking that the geolocation accuracy would be essentially the house address and not more accurate than that - a ca 30-50 m radius - I know many devices get 10 or less but can be more costly). Well, whilst at the setup loc. I had no issues having both garage and gate open on a single button click, I was having hit and miss results when hitting my custom button further down on entering my driveway (my gate starts at the back end/rear of the house). I'd hit my custom button and only the gate would open (despite the garage as prev mentioned being only another 15 + m further on!).

The paper manual (2022) is already out of date in respect how you can edit/change the geolocation attached to a Homelink operation. You now simply tap the 'option' triple-dot button opposite your saved HomelInk entry and one of the pop-up choices is to 'Save Location'. This actually allows you to save a new location and overprints the prior saved location (was not immediately obvious to me).

So, based on my original saved loc being potentially non-optimal as between gate and garage, I went ahead and backed up ca. 30 m down my driveway so I was no ca. 20 m from my gate and a further ca. 15 from the garage. Saved (overprinted) the new location and now, without fail, the single custom button click has both gate and garage opening synchronously every time - amazing.

So however the signals are being sent your geolocation has absolutely priority it seems - also attests to the accuracy of the GPS signal being received (big trees around my driveway too!) i.e. a 20 m shift in location had an immediate impact on effectively and synchronously delivering gate and garage signals.

Happy new year,

Thanks for the good info there but I’m missing something to make it user-friendly as you did.

I was able to program the gate and the garage on separate entries and both locations are maybe ¼ mile away from each other. I save both location and you can see that the map location is right.

I also program the shortcut on the steering wheel to call HomeLink.

Symptoms and findings.
  • The Homelink menu appears in the proximity of each location which is good.
  • The menu then shows two entries, GARAGE, and GATE when I’m at proximity. then I have to select manually the entries I want to open.
  • The shortcut button is not related to the location but always call the HomeLink menu with the two entries choices
  • The HomeLink screen does not go away when I drive away, even after 10 miles
  • When I leave my garage in reverse the camera is taking over and even I press the shortcut I have to close the camera screen to make the HomeLink in the foreground to be able to close the door

How did you manage to have the system sending both codes to the same location?

Have same issues re the HomeLink PCM button/notification - basically have to dismiss that manually every time - no current workaround.

I think the key with my system is that I had my opener already setup to open my garage and gate with one button click - also have additional clickers that have individual buttons setup up for each device.

When I synced my car’s system I used the clicker button that had prev being assigned to open both units with a single click - TBH I need to go back to the documentation to recall exactly how I assigned dual operation to one click but suspect that is the key - I don’t think that the same code is being sent to both units as again I have addl clickers programmed at the same time that indep open each unit (unless they somehow have separate codes which seems improbable).
