My wheels and TPMS came off of a 2015 Panamera Turbo. After mounting them the tire pressure started showing up after about a day of driving with no action on my part other than selecting a new wheel size in PCM. Thought this data point would be useful for those who are curious if something that worked on a past Porsche will work on their Taycan.

As most have correctly indicated, The system has to be put in “Learn” mode to sync with new TPMS sensors. By using the PCM to select the new size, that activates “Learn” mode. Then you have to drive for a bit so the car can figure out which wheel is where (LF/RF/LR/RR).

Porsche TPMS sensors (to include aftermarket) have the “vehicle specific protocols” pre-installed. They are different than the “universal” sensors that must be programmed to work with a given car. Most if not all Porsche’s work this way.

If you’re sourcing sensors from the aftermarket, go with a high quality sensor from a reputable supplier like TireRack and the Huff (BH) Branded Intellisens sensors. Cheap knock-offs will cause issues and will have poor battery life. You should expect 5-10 years out of a quality set. Closer to 10 if you swap summer and winter sets.
