Is it possible to upgrade the rear camera?

I have a 2022 4S and the camera that comes with it is "meh". Its hard for me to see and I am always worried of hitting "something"

I know there's a parking assist package that one can buy. Is there a way I can get the dealership to upgrade my camera

To what?

The new facelift cars have same quality so realistically you're looking at 3rd party which might require coding, calibration and software adjustment therefore $$$$

With 360 view the images in my experience are better / good. Cars with a reversing camera only are at best shockingly poor - recent experience of a facelift with rear camera only.

I have parking assist on my MY24 4S but did not have it on my MY 21 Base. I have noticed the rear camera is better than on my MY21 Base, but nothing to get excited about. My 2020 Dodge SUV has a better rear camera than either one of them.

Are you saying cars with 360 view have the same hardware as cars without ?

The 4 cameras work well in tandem and you get additional views - kerbside and top down. I don't know if different hardware, just more of it.

For swoop view you need Remote Park Assist

The rearview and surround-view on our low-end, Mercedes GLC300 is jaw-dropping in comparison. How is it that Porsche didn't get inspiration from their brothers and sisters 10 miles down the road in Stuttgart? I guess Porsche isn't traditionally a luxury car and not in its element in city driving and parking.

Apparently the face lifted one has new camera software, according to my porsche dealership. It is supposed to make a difference. I say suppose, because I noticed none during my test drive.

There was also a recall because of this, since apparently quite a few shipped without being updated to new camera software... obviously, not OTA.

360 view is okay, front camera is great (my first car with front camera).
I can't think of any car has worse rear camera... EVER...

You need surround view but nothing else required other than the dongle. You turn on the car, open the bonnet (!) and plug the dongle into the OBD port. Programming is automatic and (from what I remember) completes in a minute or so.
