I've got after market cf mirror replacement caps and so far they have been great. A bit tricky to install as you remove the oem housing.

Wrapped.
Maybe the reluctance was to do a full wrap. These aren’t. Much cheaper than replacing.
CF look isn’t my thing but for me this does the same job as PPF so I kept it.
‘Scuse the dust.

Thank you! This actually looks great on a black Taycan. I think for any black Taycan owners out there who'd love a CF look, this is a great option. Unfortunately mine is white so it either needs to be a full wrap (which shops don't want to do) or a housing replacement.

I think those are better quality. Closer to OEM. I think I should have just bought those originally..now that I think about it..the ones I got were more like 500.

update - those were the ones I got the second time. they were willing to give me another pair but I didn't want to wait another month. let me know how it goes. when you line them up, tell me if you see a gap underneath.
Oh well. I opened the package this morning. There is a clip off each side :( Will need to replace or return. Have to reach out to them.

On the upside, the CF quality itself seems pretty good.

they are pretty good with returns and replacements. it just takes forever.

and yes, the finish is really good. comparable to the $1500+ OEM versions. Although one thing to consider, you and anyone who purchased an aftermarket Carbon Fiber mirror cap - you should probably do a PPF or some type of surface protectant. Couple buddies have purchased CF for other parts for different cars and if you leave out in the sun, it may scorch whatever cheap protection they put on it.

Update: aftermarket carbon fiber mirror + high gloss black vinyl wrap the lower housing. Super happy with how it turned out!

I gambled on the China version and they look really good. Very clean carbon fiber and very sturdy mounting points (not like the pictures earlier in this thread that looked like they were 3D printed.)
This is the set that I got for less than $300 shipped to my house in San Diego in about a week (arrived at my door at 10PM on a Saturday night): https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256...il_item.4.673bf19c7lJNuP&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

Also, found a pretty good install video. Just watch it until about 1:35 where he starts pulling on the mirror cover like a gorilla and then stop. Instead, you can see where the clips are inside the mirror cover (look on your new parts to see exactly). One you release the tension on about 2-3 clips closest to where the mirror was, then the entire mirror cover pops up with just a little bit of upward pressure. Entire install took me about 20 minutes (I had set aside 2 hours to do it). I left all the mirror electronics connected during the whole process and put my key fob inside the house so the car would not "activate" while stuff was in limbo in order to avoid the reports of some people saying their LCA needed to be recalibrated after they messed with the mirror.
