Jack stands?

Hi all,

I don't like working on my car with just the jack. I've always used jack stands. The weird mounting point on the taycan makes it not amenable to traditional jack stands.

I did buy a set of jack pads from https://creative-steel.com, and they work great, but are there jack stands out there that allow you to use a pad like this? Seems like every set of jack stands i can find are made for traditional mounting points/pinch welds.

I couldn't find anything on here about compatible jack stands after a search

Yeah, just seems a little cost prohibitive. I really only jack it up twice a year to swap out winter/summer wheels. Basically just looking for a jack stand with the same mounting mechanism as a traditional floor jack so i can place the adapter pad in there.

where are you going to jack the car and then put the stands? i want to see how i can get 1 side on 2 stands.

I have a set of these by SafeJacks that I use for my BMWs and Porsches. Will use for my Taycan also. My only concern is the weight of the car and batteries and all..much more than my 911 or M4 I think.

I have a set of Jackpoint jackstands:

There is a video link on the web page to an episode of Jay Leno's garage that shows how the stands work. Their primary advantage is that they allow you to jack up the car at the proper jacking point using one of the various Jackpoint pads and then place the stand under the pad at that precise location. With a 5000lb car that is critical. The stands are individually rated for 2 tons so they can easily handle the weight.

I don't know if the pads you purchased would work on top of the proprietary Jackpoint pads. There might not be enough clearance and I don't know about stability but these jackstands definitely solve the problem of lifting and supporting at the right spot.

I recently had to replace a front tire on the 4S and the Jackpoint worked perfectly.

I saw those a couple weeks ago and thought it looked good, but i didn't see a pad adaptor the taycan/e-tron GT (my car). I emailed the company but they didn't respond.

I'm really happy to hear it works with this platform. Do you need a special pad adaptor?

Edit: It looks like this one might be the best option? For use with the creative-steel jack pads linked in the initial post. Is this the setup you are using?

Hi Snorlax, the pads I have are the "low profile" version. They have a hole in the center which accommodates a removeable aluminum pin designed to fit with the jacking point on a 911 (I had a GT3 when I purchased the Jackpoint stands). Even so, the relatively small flat center of the low profile pad worked well enough to span the jacking point on my Taycan and were raised enough not to interfere with the car's underbody..

That said, the recessed pad in your picture with the larger flat surface would be an even better choice for the Taycan. I see no reason why the Taycan specific pads you already purchased couldn't sit right on top of them.

+1 on this question. The JackPoint stands are still waitlisting. How do you get one side of a Taycan onto two typical jack stands when there are only two jack locations per side?
