I have a 21 Taycan 4S. I’ve historically used either the Porsche charger which came with the car but mostly a Clipper Creek 64A charger.
Using the Clipper Creek charger, my car has almost always charged at around 10.5kw (48A). The Porsche unit was a max 40A unit and the car charged slower.
For the past month or two, my car will only charge at 8.5kw speeds on my Clipper Creek model, my friend’s same model unit and now the dealer which has a 100A charger.
Perhaps coincidentally, but this reduction in speed occurred around the same time as my charge port door failed and needed to be replaced. No sooner did they replace the charger door than the wind mirror camera failed. Both required system updates. I believe in this period, Porsche rolled out some updates.
the dealer insists my car charges within acceptable limits and that a speed as low as 7.5kw is considered acceptable.
I know I’m experiencing a sudden 20% degredation of charging speed but can’t understand what caused that and why Porsche can’t assist.
