In the cup holder with no cradle?? I’d think it would fly out.

I drove all around the country with my phone in the front cup holder. Plugged in for CarPlay. Never flew out.

the cable exits the center console from the front-passenger corner. Then I leave about 3 feet of cable just laying on the passenger seat. (That length is needed if I choose to take a photo while it is still plugged in.)
