Launch Date in Australia

Hi,
I ordered the MY25 RWD model in Feb this year. The car has since arrived last week in Sydney. But the dealer tells me he can't handover the vehicle until after the launch date of 10th August 2024. Does anyone else hear this? I am more concerned that they are going to use my car as a show piece at the launch event in Sydney. What options do I have?

I don't know Australian law, but your only option may be to refuse delivery if the car is not in "new" condition, since you ordered a new one.

Go to the launch event? Try and nab the keys and drive off - you can't be done for stealing!!

FWIW Demo/showroom cars have arrived here in Malaysia, and that's what they are using for launch events. I do not think that they are holding delivery of your car because they are using it. Must be some silly commercial policy thingy.
