Ive tried so many microfiber towels just to come to the conclusion that I only need a few.

Exterior paint and Door Jambs:
Autofiber Mr. Everything
Its 300GSM, doesn't push product around, doesn't leave lint like the higher pile towels

Exterior toppers:For BeadMaker or other toppers
Rag Company Eagle Edgeless 500

Wheels and Tires:
The Rag Company The Miner
365GSM

Interior:
The Rag Company Eagle Edgeless 350
350GSM

Leather:
The Rag Company Edgeless 365
365GSM, low pile, same as the Miner for the Wheels

What Ive been using:

Exterior: 300GSM

I also been using different kinds but haven’t really paid attention to the type. I do carry at least a couple in the trunk, one for areas with grease or grime, one for windows and windshield

Costco ones are always good enough. Everything else seems to be marketing

My plush towels are not working well at all, but they look like they should :\

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071RMLP47

I've been using them as the final polish after applying a topper (using two different gsm towels) and they just push stuff around rather than pick it up. I guess I should switch and use them or the initial application :\

I wonder if we have different Costco towels. Mine are bright orange and leave a ton of lint. They simply can not be used wet at all. I see it most on windows, hairs everywhere. When Dry they seem to stay together and work fine for buffing, but with the sewn edge and tags, not the best.

I wonder if Costco has different varieties?

Did you wash them before using? Vinegar helps keep it plush and not hydrophobic.

They are the Kirkland brand, the only ones they have.

How do you wash and dry them?

I put them in the dryer at low heat because I don't care for them

They get washed after each use, using a bit of HE Tide in warm water and double rinsed. I'll soak them in a bucket of water and vinegar and then wash them again with some vinegar to see if that helps.

There are MANY brands, types of microfibers, and GSMs that can be utilized to get great results.

I got my new towels and soaked both the new ones and the really plush ones in a bucket with a bit of carpro reset, a cup of vinegar and water for about 8 hours. I then washed them with a bit of HE Tide liquid and a cup of vinegar in the fabric softener holder.

I tested the towels this afternoon and they work so much better. Spray a bit of Ech2o on to one and rub that in to remove the bumps and then buffed it all out with a second. I think they were doing a much better job.

Now to find a topper that doesn't attract dust :p

The rubbing doesn't cause any marring at all?

The Ech2o is a dust magnet?

I've used BeadMaker 80%, DreamMaker 20% mix. It makes it slick and lots of gloss, but another magnet

I only worked on the glass so far. I’ll wash with a decon soap before moving to the paint.

I think both the ech2o and elixir products are dust magnets, but Elixir seems to be worse.
