Day 2 observations:
  • No comfort entry on the GT. You mean I have to press the button on the key fob to unlock and lock - Nooooooooooooo! Unlock from the app works as well.
  • The GT connects to my home WiFi. The Turbo S didn‘t. No idea what I’m going to use that for…
  • Porsche Taycan My 2025 Taycan Turbo GT has landed - First Look IMG_1699

  • The central display has fewer icons. One until the WiFi is connected, two after WiFi connection established. So far I have seen 2G, 4G, and 5G. No more LTE?
  • Only one button on the inside of the boot lid, so can’t lock the car from there anymore.
  • New design driver’s card. It has a blue LED that flashes periodically. Nice ?

  • The electric sport sound is LOUDER! than the Turbo S.
  • And did I mention, it’s Purple ?

Does it look more purple than the PPF pics? It looked very blue
Some colors look very different in different lighting

No more LTE?
Technically 4G == LTE.

LTE was a term used a bit more in North America a few years ago until 5G became the norm. Not sure why Porsche used it in their UI though. It never felt very "European".

Good to see the new cellular modem can handle 5G as that future proofs it a bit - especially as most countries are starting to switch off 3G.

Day 3 observation - recuperation kicked in this morning upon ACC-induced deceleration (when approaching a slower vehicle in front), but not when applying the brakes. I wasn’t expecting _any_ recuperation for a few hundred miles.

what is Attack mode? Different than sport and sport+ mode?
In Attack Mode, the power of the electric motors is set to maximum for a certain time (10 seconds IIRC.) I believe I have seen it called Push-to-Pass as well.

I tried it for a few seconds in Normal drive mode yesterday. With a car this powerful, I am not sure I will need to do it again ?

If the function is used a short blocking time occurs before Attack Mode is available again.

I will take some more photos when the rain stops. I will also post a video of Attack Mode in operation (I have a head mount for my iPhone.)

Easy Entry in action. When activated, as soon as a door is opened, the body raises automatically by 55 millimetres. This makes it easier to get in and out. When the door closes, the Taycan lowers back down to the previous level.

  • Two interesting things in the boot (trunk).
    1) Charging cable included, and
    2) less space than in my old Turbo S.

  • The doors need more of a push to close them properly. Me and two other passengers failed to close the doors on several occasions (see photo below). Theories please… I’ll begin -
    a) Doors are lighter therefore needing more energy input to close them
    b) Hinges are stiffer by design
    c) Hinges are stiffer because they are new
    d)...
