Two questions/comments:

What color paint are you getting?

if you can afford a TAYCAN, you can afford a $10-15k hit for model year turnover or reduction in trade value to get the latest and greatest feature you want.

The anticipation/wait for the car is exciting and painful at the same time as most of the people that ordered waited at least 3-6 months longer than anticipated for a multitude of reasons. This is by far the most exhilarating car I have ever driven or owned, I wish I got In line a little sooner.

Enjoy life in a Porsche sooner than later since we can’t put more time on he clock And you can’t take it with you.

Thanks ..... Haven't decided on the colour yet - was thinking UltraViolet - but thinking of something brighter now - My current A7 is bright - Porsche Rs Green (now called imaginatively 'Green').

cheers

Should I wait for the MY24 facelift? Could there be a major technical advance and I regret not waiting?

It's my first Porsche, so I am not sure how much being a previous version devalues the previous one

Perhaps being 67 year old - I should just Go4it ASAP :D - and aim to changeup for the new model in ~2027 (if I survive that long) ;)
Alan -- first of all, congratulations on your journey into Porsche. That in itself is a monumental milestone and worth celebrating, so cheers!

You already know the answer. Every year there will be improvements. And every year it's another 6-18 months of waiting after announcement of changes before everyone can get one. Just like anything else in life, we can keep waiting and waiting.... which leads to more waiting....

But what about the opportunity cost of not enjoying it right now? All the canyon carving days and memories that can be formed this minute? I can tell you that for many of us it's been a phenomenal car and experience, even compared to others Porsches. It's been 5 months and despite it being my daily commute, I still wanted to take it out for a spin last night just to run errands. The daily shit-eating grin of seeing and enjoying this car, to me, is priceless especially when time is the one thing we can't ever buy.

Enjoy in good health, sir! :)

Okay Okay - I am convinced. Will confirm my order next year when invited to do so.

I knew in my heart what I wanted really - but it's good to sound-out others, to make sure I am not doing anything regretful.

cheers all - and thanks for the wise words

Al

Presently, I have an order for MY23 to be delivered in Nov-Dec 2022.

Should I wait for the MY24 facelift? Could there be a major technical advance and I regret not waiting?

Will the advent of the MY24 facelift, just 12 months after I get an MY23, provide a significant devaluation of my MY23? Or will it be marginal? - (affordability on my pension is marginal)

It's my first Porsche, so I am not sure how much being a previous version devalues the previous one

Opinions please

Cheers
Oh dear its still 2021 and you are asking about a MY 24 facelift. JFDI is my opinion and I'm 66. Anyone know how to track build times. Mine is due for completion Feb 2 2022.

An MY24 build slot becomes available around 9-10 months after I receive my MY23 in December 2022, for which I placed an order in October 2021, which was the soonest delivery for a Turbo with Custom Paint at that time - and for which I need to confirm the order in Feb-Mar 2022 (2-3 months from now)...........

So MY24 seems a long way off - but I needed to decide in next 2-3 months.whether to go for MY23 or wait a further 9-10 months for an MY24

cheers

There will always be another one. Smart move in any year is to take the model year change and have for a year, so MY23 ticks that box.

Who knows what changes will come but for sure battery upgrades are what we all want. Appearance wise changes will be subtle (traditional Porsche way).

Keep the car for 2 years place an order for MY25 in 2024 and you should catch the cycle right.

You are 67 years old. Buy the 1st one you can get your hands on and enjoy it instead of worrying about facelifts!

After the 2024 there will be 2025, and a 2026,... just go for it! This car will bring a smile to your face every day you drive it.

2/2/22, a date which is easy to remember and which can be used in-US and ex-US without causing confusion. Also happens to be my birthday...

Given how none of us actually know what the mid cycle refresh facelift will actually look like, kind of impossible to answer that Q. ?
