Your cell voltages look ok at 60% SOC, but you’ll need to drain the battery to below 10% and let it sit overnight, than take another reading. It may show a fault, a bad cell, or nothing, but you definitely want to run though this process. Also - 84% SOH is very low, but you do have 26K miles and 4.5 years.

I will agree with @whitex on the drop in range from 300 new to 200 now is not really surprising. I was mistakenly thinking your drop was sudden, but it doesn’t sound unusual to have that kind of drop over the life of the car, especially with the 84% SOH. All things could be completely normal, but now that you have the OBD, definitely go through the ‘rebalancing‘ process. You could see an increase in SOH.

On the topic of higher energy consumption in the winter: when I had a military assignment to North Dakota with -20 F typical low temperatures, I recall a farmer saying that the cattle consume twice as much feed in the winter due to higher metabolism to stay warm. That made it much more expensive to raise cattle there than in milder climates. I've never figured out why people chose to settle there. My best guess is that the early settlers making their way through the area got stuck in a blizzard and had to burn their wagons for fuel, then realized there are no trees there to build new wagons.

I have a Taycan 4S with 76k km (2021). The range is still pretty much the same as when I bought it. In the summer I get at best around 480 km (almost 300 miles) and in the winter at worst 280 km (174 miles). The drop-off here in Finland is significant in the winter especially when temperatures get below -10C.
I am happy with this. Mostly only charging at home to max 85%. Using Ionity when travelling to the Alps 1-2 times a year.

I've had my Turbo about 4.5 years (bought in September 2020). But it only has 26K miles. When new, the car got about 300 miles on a charge. Now it's only getting 200 miles. Is this normal? I don't pay much attention to range but lately I've been noticing how much more frequently I need to charge.

I never charge past 80%. I'm not sure what other behaviors I've done that might contribute to this range loss.
My Turbo S has 65k miles on it and gets 200 miles at 100% so that sounds about right.

Thanks! So the age of the car is an important factor in the cause of battery degradation? I would have thought it was dependent on mileage driven, or perhaps number of charging cycles, but I didn't know the age mattered all that much.

I will try the rebalancing at some point, but I'm not going to rush to do it if it would only gain me 2%, and I coudn't use the car for a day. Plus charging to 100% without using the car makes me nervous!

The thing I don't understand is what you said about how I'd need to be running at 36kwh/100 miles to get 200 mile range. That's crazy high, isn't it? As I said, it's currently showing 27.6 kwh/100. I don't pay attention to that, but I wouldn't have thought I was burning that much juice when I drive.
Ageing is delendent on number of cycles of charge and discharge "cycle ageing" so basically miles.

AND
time since the cells were first charged "formation". This is "calendar ageing" and can, in certain condutions, older chemistries and poorly designed batteries, be more significant than cyclic ageing. (Nissan Leaf Arizona for example)

However, that's unusual these days as batteries are better designed and managed but still, calendar ageing can't be ignored.

I second @SergeyIndy's comment, the CarScanner OBD scan does not change anything on your car, nor does it affect anything in your car. The High Voltage Active warning is for legal liability reasons, giving anyone who may be diagnosing the car, a warning to not touch the orange wires. CarScanner does have options to clear faults and such, but they are very explicit and you are unlikely to do it by accident (even if you did, really not an issue whatsoever unless you want the dealer service department to investigate some error which happened only once and is not happening again). I do a lot more that this on my car, I actually modify my car's configuration to suit my preferences (using other tools than CarScanner), and even that does not affect my warranty in the US unless Porsche can prove my changes caused the issues - the service techs at my dealer actually know most of my modifications, they don't mind at all, they find it interesting how I've been able to customize my car, no issues with any recalls or warranty claims.

PS> Absolutely agree with you, the PSM firmware update which came with the brake lines recall is IMHO the best Porsche released update to-date. It's a silver lining of the brake lines recall - if it wasn't for potentially dangerous brake lines, we would have not received the PSM firmware update. I so wish Porsche didn't fail miserably in developing their OTA update system.
How do you know if you have the updated PSM FW?

Other than asking your service guys, for me it's the way the brake operates. One clear change - before the update, it was nearly impossible to inch the car slowly when parking without rocking it back and forth like a newly minted driver who hasn't quite mastered the brake pedal; after the update, nice and smooth, none of this hard brake application at low end. The brake feels differently when driving too (better, to me), but the parking usecase is just easiest to describe the difference.

Definitely been updated then. Inching up a steep drive is easy.

Thanks.

I find the range is the only main drawback of Taycans) being my first electric car I didnt fully realize that driving in winter on unrestricted German highways would bring the range down to only 200 km))) ok, to be fair, driving over 200km/h will make ICE cars not particularly efficient either but i guess hybrids should be a bit better.

It's truly woeful. 2016 wants its sports EV back.

My 2018 Model S 100D has 85 miles more range than the Taycan't Turbo S and it's 7 years old and has 130k miles on the clock.

Guess which one we did the Berlin Christmas run with (from UK)?

Not the Porsche.

Attached is my data from the OBD Scanner. The scanner requested that I enable optimized mode, resulting in the HIGH - Voltage System Enabled message being displayed while connected. The message cleared when I disconnected.

There are 25 pages, I only uploaded 9. SergeyIndy Thanks!

I'm getting the "high-voltage system enabled" warning when plugging in my OBD2 reader. It disconnects my reader every 5-10 seconds or so, I can't get any data. What did you do to stop the warning from happening? Thanks!

The warming message remains active when the OBD2 connects. Make sure the profile is set up correctly. See the screens below.
