Hey guys,

I hope you are well?
I received a month ago a brand new Taycan Turbo MY2025.
Incredible car but there are everyday things that bother me.
I bring my wish list here, in the hope that an engineer at Porsche will read this site (if customer satisfaction is so important to them, I have no doubt they do it regularly).

I suggest you join my thread if you have something to tell them.

1) Mirrors reopen when pressed once: it happens quite regularly that the mirrors reopen instantly after you ask them to close from the inside. You then have to press the button to close them again and leave them in that position.

2) Initiation of CarPlay too haphazard: Just set off too quickly and CarPlay (wireless) doesn't launch or can't launch because the vehicle is moving! I had to stop, plug in the phone and wait 20 or 30 seconds...

3) new diamond button: with the compulsory audible warning when you exceed the speed limit, a DIAMOND button use is required. In addition to the fact that the speed is not always the right one, we're running out of buttons! Suggestion: press and hold the diamond button on the steering wheel or double-click to create a new shortcut.

4) Side views for 360 cameras: Unbelievable but true! The view of the wheels is not available when you have the 360 camera option - even though it's very expensive.
Suggestion: still be able to see the front and rear wheels and not the 360 view (which is not very visible because of the size of the screen and the ultrasound view).

5) Remote Parking: When there is no object in front, the vehicle would have to accept to move forward using the smartphone. Today, if an object ON THE SIDE is detected, then the vehicle cannot leave its space... a bit silly.

Out of interest how do you deactivate the 'speeding' warning?

It can't be permanently disabled. Best you can do is configure one of the two diamond buttons to disable it, which you'll have to do on every drive. Hasn't been a big deal for me personally.

As a fellow MY25 Turbo owner I'll offer my quick comments on these issues and an addition of my own.

The mirror reopening issue hasn't happened to me and it's not for lack of trying, I have to fold them every time I drive into my tight garage. They have not reopened, seems to work exactly the same as in my previous MY20. So that issue might be something you should mention to the dealer.

CarPlay I can't comment as I'm an Android user. Android Auto seems to work as it should. I've not experienced a freezing of the Android Auto interface yet, which is a massive relief. It froze sometimes with my previous Taycan.

The diamond buttons issue I'm not feeling personally. They made such nice changes to the other buttons and logic of the UI that I still haven't found a useful shortcut for the steering wheel diamond. I use the dash diamond for shutting down the speeding warning, but the steering wheel diamond is essentially useless for me at the moment. I used to use it for "next song" but now that there is a dedicated button for that, I don't know what to use it for.

The latter two issues I can't really comment on. I have the 360 cameras but they seem fine to me. As for the remote parking, I haven't tried that, so can't comment on that either.

What is annoying to me personally is that as is the case with the speeding warning, the lane assist can't be permanently disabled either. It can only be disabled by LONG PRESSING the small button on the bottom of one of the steering wheel stalks. Why that button has to be long pressed is quite annoying. I hate lane assist and in my Audi I can disable it with just a normal press of a button, now I have to long press a tiny button every time.

In the grand scheme of things that is a minor issue though. I'm absolutely loving my new Taycan.

Ee gads, the speed limit warning sounds miserable!
My wife used to turn off the auto engine stop feature of her ICE car before every drive.
I turn on regen using the steering wheel button in my Taycan before every drive.
And now the Europeans have to disable a speed limit warning before every drive.
:(

This is something they have fixed in MY25, the regen is now a separate setting from the drive modes and it's saved. All in all the annoyances are equal to what they were before. Just different ones ?

How are you finding the ride/handling and performance vs your previous 4s? Mine arrives next week...

The speed warning issue is equally annoying in the new Mini EV. It's driving me and my wife nuts - it's about 3 menus deep to disable every time the car is turned on. Perhaps this is just the future for us all?
