So how do we prevent it from charging above 85% then? I have my home profile set to just 80%. I only have the option to set "minimum charging amount" and not a "maximum charging amount". Nevertheless, today I found my car charged to 100%. I was like WTF....

Is it bad to charge to 100%? I thought it had a built in buffer so that “100%” isn’t actually how much the batteries can really store.

I'm not sure if this is the right way or not. I ended up using a Timer Profile to limit the charge to 85%. I couldn't find a way to do the same using a Charging Profile.

Set minum charge level to 85% and the profiles to 85% and your fine..
Nope, you are not fine. Or you are, for the most part. As I've said above, my Taycan would randomly charge to 100% if plugged in, regardless of what the profile says. This has happened twice already.

I'm confused as well with maximizing 85% SOC in the profiles.

Yet if I think like a programmer, I might set Min battery charge to "85%" & Preferred charge times "00:00 - 00:00." Wouldn't this mean, charge to 85% immediately and then no time allowed to charge past?

Here's what I have for charging profile programming.

I'll test and let you know.

@NaiM5 I may expect 00:00 - 00:00 to mean all day as a short cut. Can you please try 00:00 - 00:01?

Good point!

00:00-00:01 not an option. But 00:00-00:05 is.

I'll keep you posted!

My experience with optimal setting is that it charges to 100%, yet my goal is to charge only to 85% as it is my daily drive.

For your car, does it charge to 85% on the optimal setting?

Mine charges to 100 on optimal, although the booklet says 85% is optimal for daily use. Also it never charges during the hours I've said - it charges when I plug it in.
