Before Teslas I was even paying subscriptions for LTE connection to my dashcams too... I decided I didn't need those with my current dashcams.

My free 1 year ran out at the end of April. I've been operating fine the last month, but I didn't expect the app to be literally useless without a sub. Seems weird that Porsche wouldn't try to incentivize us to keep the app on our phone for broader purposes (marketing, etc.).

I only used it for preheating my car, and I am BUMMED to no longer have that feature, but there is no way I'm paying a subscription for that feature. If I was using public chargers more frequently, that might tip me over the edge. But the only time I've used a public charger was the first weekend I got the car (testing it just for fun).

2025 Taycan should include 3 years of Porsche Connect, and 10 years of Porsche Connect Care.

What more do you expect from the Connect Service?
Everything is there, SoC, timer/profiles, preheating/cooling, even zones, carfinder, navigation planning, chargers, car information, consumption, miles driven, etc.
It's all there.
And most importantly: it's working all the time (that was way different a few years back).

If you buy a premium brand you pay premium prices.

It's as simple as that.
You think Ferrari, Lamborghini or Bugatti offers more and is less expensive?
If you want bang for buck you buy Kia or some other Chinese/Korean product.
They are unbeatable but no, you want to drive a Porsche so you pay Porsche prices.
That's it, deal with it (or don't).
And if you think the price isn't right, cancel the subscription.
What a useless discussion...
Some people just want to argue on forums all day long but forget what a great car it is with all the app functionality you need.

agreed, and honestly, the mobile app trip and charger planner is intuitive, has many features, and is very accurate. IMO, having a connected car is imperative for the full experience of a modern EV.

I always pay for the data. In my prior BMWs, real time traffic information (BMW is more timely than Porsche btw), was critical in allowing the navigation to map alternative routes. Likely saved me countless hours on road trips.

Porsche has been improving the data service in the last year. On the mobile app, there is now real time (I checked and validated) charger stall data, and not just how many stalls are open, but the last time the stall was used and current loiter time of an occupied stall.

Thanks for correcting me. Looks like this is related to the Bluetooth issue I've been experiencing recently. phone connects and disconnects rapidly the entire drive every drive. I made an appt for next Monday and just added this to the list of symptoms.

Speak for yourself, the pcm has been rebooting every 5 minutes since november if using the built in navigation.

Have to use android for everything now, which also makes the second screen completely useless.

I'm not sure how porsche managed to make such a good car, so frustrating to own. At this point its basically a domination fetish.

My free connect ended 2 months ago, and i'm definitely never going to renew it.

What you have is a non functional PCM. Not a gripe about connected service
