I haven’t had a Porsche one but i did in my Audi, also on the gear lever. I would never have it again in those places. Looked tatty after 18 months

I had an Alcantara wheel on my GT3 - 7 years and 20,000 miles later and it still looked like new - I just took reasonable care (nothing OTT) and the interior was properly cleaned once or twice a year.

I have one in my CT, no issues so far, delighted with the look & feel and wouldn't hesitate to spec again

Thanks. It may be taken out to allow more useful stuff, such as the full park assist etc.

All material on steeringwheels/gearlevers etc. will show age when enough time has passed... And my impression is that the Alcantara/Racetex steeringwheel will show its age well before a leather wrapped steeeringwheel will.

I have had alcantara/racetex in several Porsches and in my all my race cars. I love the feel and feedback. The key is to use a light, relaxed grip at all times. If you use a death grip on the wheel go with leather.
