Unfortunately, in the U.S., DCFC CCS1 is dominated by EA, which appears to be obsessed with carrying out its $2b court-ordered mandate without any attempts to maximize operating profit from actual charging.
Or is it just institutional incompetence?
Either way, EA is incapable -- or unwilling? -- to institute idle fees. And the all-you-can-eat charging plans set up bizarre incentives. (Although officially limited to 30-minute blocks, the clock resets immediately upon unplugging then replugging.)
So any hopes for more sophisticated incentive pricing schemes are far removed from the EA reality.
