My car is currently at the dealership for an electric system error (link to that thread). I have ~37K miles on the odometer so I asked about 40K maintenance while it was there. I was quoted $3600 which included brake replacement (they didn't inspect the brakes) that they claimed was what Porsche recommended and offered to print something for me stating that. I declined and called Porsche support as soon as I got home. I had Porsche email me the official schedule and details. Here's the content of the email.

"Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars North America today for assistance. As requested, please find below the recommended maintenance schedule for the Porsche Taycan, along with the typical service items performed at each interval:

Hmm, so not needed unless they saw something during inspection or am I reading it wrong? Stunning profile pic btw, lovely color.

What does create report for long-life guarantee mean?

There’s a lot of inspections in the list and of course potential replacements if something bad is found. The brake fluid replacement should happen every 2 years.

And thanks for your comment about my profile pic. Mamba Green is really an amazing color for areas where there is a lot of sunlight.

This completely wrong maintenance schedule. The idiots sent you a gas car schedule. No 10k for EVs!
You need to reference the Maintenance Booklet that came with the car that has the checklist.
Took me 5 second to find the real schedule online, here it is.
I took advantage of full brake fluid service during recalls, must be 2 recalls together for full flush.
I replace my own filters every 6 months, wiper blades every 12 months, and measure Key Fob battery every 3 months to keep it fresh and powerful.

Specific to your situation @Hirschaj, there is NO brake pad service needed until only 6 years of age for the pads. Clearly, they are taking advantage and you are at 37k miles and cannot be at 6 years if age on the pads.

Brake fluid has. 2 year lifespan. This is common and you were correctly quoted. However in practice, few people replace their brake fluid every 2 years.

Most Taycans got the brake-line recall done in the this year, which includes a brake fluid change.

Very surprised at this mail from Porsche NA. It does not align with the service book as mentioned above.

Two things that I noted about this schedule.

1. The absence of cabin filter change. I think that is absolutely necessary after 2 years!

2. The absence of the expensive drain check that OPC normally try to include! They have stated and rightly so to check the drains in the charging socket (s). But where is the recommended drain check with disassembly of some parts of the car?? In my case they even wanted to check the drains for the sunroof opening at a cost of several hundreds of Euros! They could not find any sun roof though.

Perhaps all the Porsche centres try to get extra money since their revenue stream from service will disappear if EV’s will be more popular than ICE.? No oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plug, coils to change etc. Mechanics will be replaced by keyboard jockeys.

Don't kid yourself.

With the amount of recalls taycan has had, all 3 services I have been until now have been hiring since 2022 non-stop.

In switzerland, due to the amount of recalls on taycan & macan EV, most services are understaffed in terms of service, resulting in long waiting lists for repairs and unhappy customers. It's actually so bad that they started giving brand new 0-50km taycan turbo s as replacement car, because they ran out of replacement cars - and in switzerland, for porsche EVs, they either give car or reimburse all transportantion costs incurred during the time period without the car.

I do find it wired that they prefer giving a brand new 250k car, instead of a brand new ICE cayenne / panamera at lower price point. I guess they expect the taycan's to depreciate either way, with or without 0 kms.

Curious what this odor & allergens filter is. Never heard about it. Where is it located? Do you have more info @SergeyIndy

@chun I was just in a hurry to find the maintenance schedule for the OP so what I posted is just a copy from one of the dealers, giving a confusing statement as if there are 2 different filters (cabin and odor). That is not the case, there is only 1 filter in the usual place even on 4 zone cars.

We have a thread on this, but basically, I go and buy an aftermarket filter that exceeds OEM specs and I replace it myself every 6 months, and do not recommend anyone waiting until 2 years as schedule states, as the filter not only gets clogged but turns black which is mold and that is what you are breathing. The filters are about $29 USD for 2x, so no reason not to do it yourself and more frequently than schedule.

Back to the maintenance schedule for Taycan is the following and yes, correctly, noted the checklist that is in the Maintenance booklet includes drain checks, but I ask the dealer to also check for blocked fans, as they do not generate error codes on the dash.

The other thing that I want to note that the Car will alert about any maintenance required, so do not trust the dealer and trust your car, as it goes granular on things like brake fluid flush, wipers, and cabin filter. I have to "prove" to my dealer, that I did them, so they reset these service minders.

Schedule:

Every 20k miles perform checklists that vary (20k miles is basic vs. 40k miles extended)
Every 2 years perform Brake Fluid Flush this is due to moisture forming in the lines
Every 20k miles or 2 years replace Cabin Filter again (do not wait that long unless you want mold)
Every 6 years of time, replace Brake Pads due to age not miles but Rotors should be 100k minimum.

The way dealers get around the schedule to make profit is base hourly rate, that varies from dealer to dealer and effectively the multiplier of what Porsche allows them to charge in terms of hour units, that is how some basic service can be $2,000 - $3,000.

I agree they need to recruit more people, but it is not mechanical guys any longer. They are understaffed with technicians to work on EV’s at least here. I can get my old 996 service appointment in a week or so while the Taycan needs several weeks notice. And a loaner is seldom provided. When it is it is a clapped out Audi A1. Porsche services here is abysmal
