Hey,

I've always traditionally stuck to the license plate design that comes with the car I buy. I don't have a personalised reg (yet), but I have seen some nice short regs on here. Some have also used short width plates.

Here in the UK, I'm aware 'FourDot' typically do custom plate shapes per cars, but don't yet have any for the Taycan. They also do the really short plate widths, and those 3D effect lettering which I'm growing to like.

So, I was wondering whether any of you have some cool plate designs and recommendations on where to look for them?

I personally think anything but standard plates is too Max Power and Chav! Stick to normal plates. The car is nice enough to do the talking then have fancy shape plates IMHO!

I used 4dots for my 4 digital plates. They are very good, nice smoothed edges etc. If you do order them the packaging alone is ridiculous!

Cool! I notice from your profile picture that you don’t have it short on the front. Is there a legal reason behind that? Or just prefer that one long?

The dealer fitted a plinth and drilled holes. I’m waiting to fix that properly. But I’ve fitted a short number plate now. I’ll take a pic.

Pic attached. The factory drill four holes! I’ll get this sorted in the next few weeks.

Looks smart! Shame I don’t have a 4 character reg tho lol. Must have cost a pretty penny!

Do you mind taking a photo of the front and show the whole car to get a better look at it? No rush!

edit: sorry just seen the last pic. Looks miles better than I thought. Any tips on where to look for short regs?

The dealer puts the holes and plinth or is this from the factory?

looks good but is the plate stuck on with some kind of double-sided tape?

The factory. Confirmed by an additional dealer as well. The only Porsche model that comes with a plinth fitted.

Yeah, double sided tape. Strip along the bottom and top edges. Solid on the car, easily removed with heat from hair dryer etc.

Thanks. I bought mine at a registration auction about 17 years ago. Tons of places on the web selling number plates. Mostly overpriced. Make an offer you might be surprised. Letters before numbers are more expensive. Happy hunting!

Oh... I was hoping it was dealer fitted so I could ask for it not to be installed but never mind, I guess I will be going through the same process potentially as yourself...
