Whether one likes them or not, the J1.2’s creases were designed in and result in better aero, e.g., better range.

I've had a J1.2 RWD Taycan twice now as a loaner car from the local dealership. I thought it was fun to drive and I can feel the difference between it and my 2022 4CT. I enjoyed driving the J1.2 and from behind the wheel, I can't see the front end anyway. Personally though, I do like the front end of my 2022 better...

I think I've seen (3) Taycans total since they came out. They all looked the same, which very well could mean it was just the same person 3x. Wish I could say I saw the J1.2 at the dealer when we were shopping over winter, but they had 0 new and 0 used on the lot to test drive. Makes me think they just don't sell here.

Looks like there are 3 J1.2 and 1 J1.1 at Porsche lots within 50 miles of you (that's not a lot!): https://finder.porsche.com/us/en-US...can&position=Cincinnati,39.10713,-84.50413,50

As a J1.1 owner, I'm curious about what's better other than the range? I've seen a number of people say the J1.2 is so much better, but on paper besides the range and HP increase, I'm not really clear on what else is improved. My understanding is the PCM is no different than J1.1 but I could be wrong.
Personally, I think the .2 is a better car in every sense except for looks. I may ultimately make the switch whenever I get bored with my .1.

I've been in NC for 6 years and have seen 1 Taycan. They're just not popular in my area either for whatever reason. The new ones sit on dealer lots for months and months and months.

The number one thing is PAR, the ride quality and dynamics are on another level. On the J1.1 the CT used to lean in the corners and squat somewhat. On the J1.2 with PAR the car is completely flat and at the same time comfort is improved at least 2x compared to J1.1.

Number two for me is the soft close. The Taycan CT imo really needs it. This can be retrofitted on J1.1 though.

Number three is the HD Matrix headlights (neutered in the US unfortunately) - they're just on another level as to how well they work.

And then the smaller things - the cooling vent for the phone means that the wireless charger is actually perfectly useful, the battery indication and how fast it can charge and what is limiting, and lots of other little things here and there.

I went for a "spirited" ride around a pond/lake today and on the way back I saw four Taycans, one Panamera and one 911. There is a Taycan owner a block up the road and someone parks a CT across from my house once a week (there is hiking trail head a few houses down from me).

From totally non scientific observations, Taycans are much more popular than both Panameras and 911s in my neck of the woods. People do like EVs here though.

I really like the front on mine... but i do agree it looks wider... maybe the UK plate softens the flat front a bit?

Very little 'incentive' to go J1.2 in UK if a private buyer as punitive taxes apply to the newer vehicle.

Understandable. I guess we won’t get into depreciation as it’s a dive; but I knew it going in on purchase and decided the performance was worth it more so than maintaining value.

I had the first gen 4s, which I absolutely loved. I was planning on getting the turbo, but the new GTS has more power than the old turbo so a few months ago I bought a used j1.2 GTS, which had already lost over £40k since new. The extra power and range are a big plus and charging is slightly quicker. PCM is more responsive, but still the same PCM, so a bit clunky, but I use Apple Carplay and that seems to work better, and you can close the boot from inside. Since July 2024 in the UK regulations mean you cannot have Lane Keep Assist and Speed warning defaulted to off (two things i really dislike; Lane Keep Assist ruins the drive on country roads and is dangerous in my view) It is harder to compare the interior as I like GTS interior a lot more, it feel special, but that may just be because of the 4S/GTS difference. As for the looks I do prefer the j1.2; creases in the front arches, I even prefer the headlights, and I do like the Porsche lighting on the rear at night. Yet to see if it is more reliable, but apart from a new heater (like a lot of people) and the driver display, I did not have many issues with my j1.1.

I forgot to mention, push to pass is fantastic, make overtaking that little bit more enjoyable. So much more usable than launch control.
