Hi today I just take the car to PPF and the guy tell me that there is a small crack in the sunroof from stone chips. Just one quick question? Is it possible that this area of sunroof can be hit by stone chips because it is located at the back area of the roof which is downward slope? How is that possible?

Sure, that's possible to get hit by a stone there. Though, you must have had some magical stone there as it can make some abrupt turns and cross over itself again.

Is it definitely a stone chip? Could it be a stress fracture? It doesn't look like a typical impact mark.

That’s impact damage for sure. You can see the gouges. Stress cracks don’t look like that.

I’d bet safelite could fill that and you’d barely notice it unless the crack started to expand.

Perhaps you are right. I guess with the position on the roof, it might have been a glancing blow, rather than a direct hit. Still, not great either way. Hopefully it can indeed be filled to stop the crack from expanding.
