Hi. I'm considering to get rear wheel steering on a Taycan 4S. Particularly I'm hoping for easier parking in smaller spaces.
How much of a difference does rear wheel steering make? Is it worth it?
Best regards Lars

It is epic. I am not kidding. The car is way more nimble than my previous Panamera with the same size that didn’t have it. Parking is super easy. Just don’t park super close to the curb because when you steer away from it, rear wheels steer towards the curb and you could scratch a wheel.

It’s great for city driving and parking into tight spaces. I am glad that I ticked this option.

Agree 100%, best option on the list for such a big car.

You need it then. I am driving a loaner without and my own has it, big difference for a long and wide car. Also, keep in mind you also benefit at highway speeds from this feature.

Had the same a little ago... Loaner without.

It's very much a worthwhile option.

I agree with all the other comments with one added caveat...Due to the shortened turning radius, you have be be careful when turning into a narrow lane. I had a Panamera 4 previously without rear wheel steering, and I nicked the wheels, not realizing that the rear end was coming around much more quickly.. It can also complicate clearing curbs resulting in scraping the jack points. I now set up the sat nav "easy lift" for locations that present these hazards. Before doing this, I scraped off two sets of passenger side jack points.

Rear Wheel Steering vs curb rash. My new Taycan with rear wheel steering arrives on Monday. My Tesla Model Y is 9" shorter than the Taycan. I have experienced curb rash in a parking lot when turning right. Since I didn't pull forward enough, the right rear wheel scraped the curb.
I am wondering if the new Taycan with rear wheel steering will help prevent curb rash. The Porsche document says that at low speed, the rear wheels turn the opposite way of the front wheels. That could mean that the rear of the car will move further away from the curb when turning. I wonder if I am making the correct assumption. For experienced owners, what are your thoughts?

Thanks for the great and quick answers here. It sounds quite convincing to go with the rear steering. I got answers - as asked - about the parking. Can anyone also add how the difference will be during higher speed, when changing lanes or going into sharper curves?
Thanks again, Lars

Quick and agile.....acts like a longer sedan at highway speed.
