Hi folks,

So I picked my CT4S up after a 9 month wait on Wednesday…just 3 days later and it’s off the road due to a coolant error. Part way through charging up at a rapid charger, I get a “charger error” message and so return to the car and check on it. When I start it up I get a “Coolant Error - seek assistance” warning. Stuck miles away from home I try and see whether it’s drivable and almost immediately lose 95% of the power and have to pull over. Red coolant liquid then starts spewing out from beneath the undercarriage! It’s now sat in a secure compound of a dealership whilst I have to wait till next week until I hear what is going to happen.

I don’t seem to be able to find any other issues such as this so maybe I’ve just been unlucky, but thought I’d check anyway? I’m based over in the UK. What are my options? Any help appreciated.

That is the most bizarre issue I've read or encountered on the Taycan.

Go directly to the Dealer and do not take possession of the car until you have a full explanation and a cast iron guarantee that the issue won't reoccur.

Potentially I'd go further and ask for a replacement / refund (acknowledging a long wait time).

This is not how it is supposed to be.

Dealer cannot possibly “cast iron guarantee” the issue will not reoccur.

You are right W1NGE, it’s definitely not how it’s supposed to be! I’ve read that I have 30 days for a full refund/replacement if not happy. Definitely don’t want to go down that road since the car is amazing, but it’s good to know. Let’s see what they say on Monday.

Brief update…they have now found the issue. Thankfully nothing too serious - a loose/poorly fitted O-ring on one of the (many!) coolant pipes. It’s been isolated and drained and now needs to be refilled, resealed and re-pressurised. Hoping to get it back next week. Not the ideal start but to be fair to Porsche, so far the dealership have been great. Can’t wait to get it back!

Hi
I have taycan 4S tourismo, 4 months old and also suffered a complete loss of coolant fluid. Please do not ignore the amber “cooling system fault visit workshop “ warning. Can lead to battery fire

Here’s a couple of pics showing the intricate coolant system arrangement with the “Frunk” and underbody covers off. Certainly want to make sure this area is protected and looked after ?.
