Taycan key fob quit working

One of my 2020 Taycan 4S key fobs quit being recognized by the vehicle following being at the Porsche dealership to receive the new software updates, OTA module replacement, and to address a number of recalls. Incidentally, this was the key fob that I didn’t leave with the vehicle. Closest dealership is 2.5 hours away and I would rather avoid having to take back in. Is there a another way to address? Can a locksmith reprogram? Other quick and easy fixes?

Lots of posts here if you search forum for key fob. If you haven't tried it, first step would be to change the key fob battery.

Yep, did that but unfortunately no luck. Something about the vehicle updates must’ve caused that key fob to require repairing…

Did you try putting the key fob in the correct cup holder? (I forget which one, but it is in the manual.)

If re-registering via placement in the cupholder doesn't work then you'll need to have the key re-paired to the car.

Put your working fob in a Faraday pouch (or a biscuit tin or wrap 7 times in aluminum foil) to ensure it doesn't interfere with pairing the other during your attempts. Good luck and I hope you don't have to make that long drive!

Tried repairing in the cupholder, you can hear the electronic sounds of the key and car trying to connect, but unfortunately fob still not communicating with car. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. Probably just need to get the dealer to re-pair.
Maybe moral of the story is if anyone goes in for software updates, be sure to take all key fobs to ensure they work with vehicle when they drive away (although it seems not many people have had this specific problem)

Why not just call those that did the uPdate. And ask them why the key fob doesnt work. And let them decide how to solve it.

If you haven’t tried this yet, you might want to check if there’s any obstruction or interference near where you store the key fob. Sometimes electronic interference can mess with the signal. Also, maybe shoot an email or call the dealership to see if they offer any postal solutions for reprogramming. Curious if anyone else found a fix!

I know how frustrating this can be. I'd suggest checking for any firmware updates or reaching out to other owners online for tips specific to the older fob models.
